Weekend of WOW's (pics)

This weekend has been filled with Wow moments.  I have not seem my family very much cause they do live out of town.  My parents are out of state with some of my sisters in College and my brother is also out of state. Since having RNY, travel has been hard and I have not wanted to deal with holiday issues (food).  I think I have all that past me and I am a stronger person now. So listen to my WOW weekend. Friday Night I got to see my parents for the first time in 11 months, they saw me about 6 weeks before surgery.  I walked in the door at my Aunts and my mother did not realize it was me and then her mouth hit the flood.  My dad could not stop telling me how proud he was of me.  He hugged me so hard I thought he broke me in pieces, I said "Dad no need to squeeze like I have tons of padding anymore".  They had smiles on there faces all night long. I got to see my little sister and she jumped up, "oh my gosh you are my sister"!  She brought me to tears. Then Gabriella (my daughter age 7) announces to everyone, "Yeah and my mom had Barmeatric Surgery (it is so funny to hear her try to say it and be so serious about it) and my mom does not have diabetes anymore, no more shots in her tummy".  The support of my little girl brings tears to my eyes, she is so proud of me and is my biggest fan.  I also found out Friday night, Me. Beer and Crabs are not friends. Crabs kill my pouch but I can eat it out of the can, makes no sense to me. Saturday More Family I have not seen and friends.  As much of a social butterfly I am, I must have been hiding in a hole for the past couple months. My grandfather told me I have always been beautiful but now I can go hang out with the big boys.  I am still trying to process that one.  I have two friends I have not seem in a year and they were shocked and more mouth****ting the floor.  I think I was a cloud nine for a couple hours.  Then my wonderful friend Karen came over to share in little Nathan's 1st birthday, Everyone was excited to meet her and hear about her WLS.  I think people look at us with such respect that we have taken charge of our health.  Then Saturday night it was nice to be out and meet new people, me and Karen met a wonderful woman that owns Da Mimmo's in Little Italy and we told her our WLS stories. She was saying how important it is to get the right food choices and we agree.  With that being said she told us she put a grill in her restaurant so people could have better choice.  See the world is realizing that we ALL need to eat healthier lives. Me and the Birthday Boy! Me and my Gabriella Me and Karen up to no good! Karen feels just FINE! Kristen feels just FINE! Sunday Was more family get together and I got to see the "Uncles".  I have not seen them in a couple weeks and they had wonderful things to say as always.  Way too much FOOD everywhere, it is time to get back to basics.  So I will miss my mom and dad, they are going home tomorrow morning, I am a little sad.  What a wonderful WOW weekend!  I so needed this! Me and my uncles, yes I need to get taller! The boys again. and again!

WOW, Kristen! What a fabulous weekend! I was almost in tears as I was reading about the reaction of your family, the statements from your daughter, and all of the special moments. I am so happy for you!

I loved the pics Kristen~! Thanks for sharing but the best parrt of the story was your daughter being so proud of her Mommy. That brought tears to my eyes. I am glad you all had a great time.  I love the pis of your uncles.  They are hunks.   Hugs,

Girl........looks like a real fun weekend!  Love the pics!!!!! I am so glad that it was full of WOW moments and that it did your heart good! You deserve it!!!!! Looks to me like we could definatly get into some fun and trouble next weekend!!!!! LOL BTW I did fine with the crabs yesterday.....only had three so maybe that's why but no issues. My mom doesn't get a lot of Old Bay on them so that might have been why. Who knows......the pouch is so unpredictable sometimes!
