Patients of Dr. Singh...need advice

I finished all of my insurance companies requirements (6 month diet, NUT visit, psych eval) and I even allowed 2 weeks from the time of the psych eval to give them time to get the results. I've been trying to get in touch with someone at Dr. Singh's office to find out when it will be submitted to my insurance company, but I haven't had any luck. I called yesterday and was told I need to speak to Mary, but she was off. So, I called back first thing this morning and was transferred to Mary's voice mail. I left a detailed message with 2 contact numbers and so far I haven't heard back from anyone. I know they're extremely busy, but I'm getting impatient. Should I try calling again today or wait until tomorrow? How long does it usually take for them to return calls? Thanks in advance for any insight.

Hi  I have not dealt with Dr. Singh's office staff however, I did have surgery with Dr. Averbach who is Dr. Singh's associate.   I woudl call them again today and leave another message.  If you get no response I would call Cathy Carr and leave her a message and let her know you are frustrated and are not getting anywhere with the office staff.   Cathy is great about calling back.  I know Cathy is a nurse but I believe she also acts sort of like the office manager.   Let me know how you make out.

Brandi,  I am in the exact same boat! I have called twice and left messages both times, haven't heard a word back.  It's been over 2 weeks now.  I gave them a check list of the insurance requirements and everything that I needed to provide from that list so I  know there shouldn't be any holdup.  I think you did your psych eval the day before mine.  I did mine on the 11th along with the nutrition consult and seeing Dr. Singh.   I know it hasn't been submitted because I called my insurance company yesterday.  I'm getting extremely frustrated!  Dr. Singh had told me surgery would probably be mid-July..but not at this rate!   Tina

Please call LATASHA.  She is the one who handles the insurance part for the office.  Keep calling her until you speak with her.  She is really great to work with.  With Mary going on vacation, I wouldn't even call her again (although she is good to deal with also).  Remember that last week Dr. Singh was  out of the office at the ASMBS conference so I don't know what was done while he was out.  Let me know how things go.    Deb

I have Dr. Averbach, but I can totally understand where you are coming from.

I had to deal with "Heather" at the office and it seemed everytime I called she was on vacation, on the other line, was out sick...So I asked that someone else help me...I really didnt get anywhere with the other women at the office. SOOOoo, I took it upon myself to call my insurance company, asked to see if they received the paperwork, and then submitted to the insurance company what they said was missing. After that, I didnt even bother calling the doctors office. I just hounded the insurance company. I would clal the doctor and if Mary isnt available ask to speak to someone in regards to an update on what is going on with everything. That is what they are there for..They work for YOU....not the other way around.
