Ok lets see where should I start.  I applied for a job months ago and they called me and asked if I was still interested and of course I am since its alot  more money.  So here I am 3 weeks post op trying to decide what do I do.  (Sipposed to go back to work Mon.) Do I go back to the bank that I am not happy with at all and give them a weeks notice or do I just say to hell with it and start the new job in a few days.  I took the physical today for the new job and she says it just takes a few days for the results to come back.  So I can probably start by midweek next week.  This is number one read on please LOL 2nd issue when I quit the bank I will not have medical for a few weeks so I need some NUT input from my friends here.  What can I eat next week.??  Any of Dr. S patients out there help me please.  3rd issue been talking to this guy on the comp and he apparently seen me at the bank and thought it was me and didnt say anything.  So like a week ago he asked if I worked at the bank and we have been chatting since.  Seems really nice and I am so out of this game I havent dated in a long time.  So anyway my question is do i tell him about the surgery.  I dont want him to think I am losing all this weight cause I am in love or on drugs LOL.   Thanks for reading and for any help you can give. I dont know what I would do without this site. O yeah down 23pds as of today 3 weeks out

Hi Barb -  This is just my opinion, for what it's worth.  Only YOU can decide what's best, based on your situation.  However, I would go back to the bank and work through the week, giving them notice.  You never know when you'll need them for a future reference.  I know you're unhappy, but knowing you have a job waiting where you'll make more $$ and hopefully, be happier, will get you through the week. What stage of foods are you?  I can help you once you answer that. Go on a date first, you don't need to tell him about your surgery until YOU'RE comfortable telling him - it's an intensely personal thing.  If he asks why you're not eating much or drinking with, just fib and tell him your stomach's upset.  However, see how you feel - you may decide to tell him right away, but again, it's a personal thing.

I'm afraid I'm not much help!!  Congrats on the wl!!!!  Keep up the good work,

Tia

Helpful with the food issues!!  With the guy thing............not so much!!  LOL!!! Okay, since you'll just be into solids, I guess, you're still going to want to take some "fall back" foods with you.  Whatever you found to be easy to eat during the last couple of weeks, be it shakes, oatmeal, cottage cheese, whatever.  Make sure you take some.  You don't want to have to depend on getting something while you're at work, or trying to figure out, if somebody's making a lunch run, what you can and can't eat.  Soups may work well, too.  The very first time I got something stuck, I was at work, and it was horrible - and I didn't go bac****il I was 8 weeks post-op!!   My point is, still baby your pouch while you're at work, be it the bank or the new job.  You really don't want to be puking and miserable at the new job!! If you need anything else, let me know!!  Good luck and congrats!! Tia

Hi Barb First, its nice to hear from you again.   On the job thing if the other job will let you start later without losing out on it. I would agree with Tia, go back to the bank on Monday, give them a week's notice.  Or, considering you have been out on medical leave you could choose not to go back to the bank and once you find out if you passed your physical call the bank and just tell them a little white lie,LOL- if you are comfortable and say you decided to resign due to some health concerns and you need to take some  additional time off.   Anyway just my opinion.     On the guy thing, take it slow and go on a first date, and don't share too much info about yourself too soon.   If he notices the food inake, you can tell him you are not feeling so well, or working on food portion consumption as a form of dieting.  Or you can eat a cup of cream of crab soup and maybe he won't notice.   On the food thing- I am now 5 weeks post op and am transitioning to regular foods and experimenting-  I have been eating small amounts of meats cut up and chewed up finely.  Crackers, peanut butter, tuna, omlets,  cheeses, a slice of lunchmeat etc.,  Jus****ch the sugar grams and sugar alcohols.    Congratualtions on the weight loss!!   Hope some of this information is helpful.    Take Care.  Let us know how things go with the JOB, GUY and FOOD!

Thanks for the compliment on the weight loss. Still having problems with Orthostatic  Hypotension, needed to take an addtional 2 weeks more off of work.  Been running alot of tests to find out what it is.  I am finding out that there are alot of people out there who have had WLS and have had the same type problem and should level out eventually .  Just a little frustrating because it limits my excercise and things I can do moving around. When I finally find out what it is. I will do a post.  Thanks for asking and good luck!

Barb, On the dating thing....I did a few first dates soon after WLS and yes, it was noticed that I was eating very little and all I said was that I just wasn't very hungry. It was left alone. If you choose to see this person again once you get to the point of being 100% comfortable to tell him about your WLS it won't be a big deal. I always worried how they would react once I told them and was actually pleasantly surprised at the reactions I got. I think we put more pressure on ourselves than we really need to......boy isn't that the pot calling the kettle black!!! LOL I'm the WORST with myself! LOL  Anyways, hope I could be even of a little help. On the job thing....I agree with Tia. :-) Good luck to you!!!! Congrats on being a Loser!!!!!!!
