C-Pap Study

Last night I went to my second sleep study appt. (Sleep Disorder Center in Annapolis)

The first appt, they found I had mild sleep apnea and scheduled a c-pap study. My room was very comfortable and I didnt really have any trouble getting to sleep. I slept in a queen size bed with a pillow top mattress, it had a super soft down comforter and fluffy pillows. I didnt have a tech waking me up not once...thank god...

The C-pap was another story...you guys/girls who sleep with it every night...HOW DO YOU DO IT? How do you have a spontaneous sex life with this thing on?

My husband stayed with me until they finished hooking me up and kissed me while I had the cpap on...He looked at me and said, tonight YOU can be darth vader and Ill be princess lea...(there is something wrong with that man...lmao)..A little inside secret...I bought him a darth vader mask for Halloween one year because he is a star wars/star trek geek...The mask comes with a voice changer...you press this button and you can either play the breathing sound that darth vader makes...or you can talk and your voice kinda sounds like him....well ONE NIGHT...after drinking tequila and margaritas..he comes to bed wearing the mask....needless to say the force was not with him..lol...

I just saw the pulmonologist yesterday and am waiting to hear when my 1st sleep study is going to be.  This isn't for the surgery, Dr. Singh said he didn't think I needed one.  But my rheumatologist wanted me to have it done because of my fibromyalgia.  I think it is going to be at the same place in Annapolis. At least it sounds like a comfy place! Your husband sounds just like my bf.  lol   Tina

We've been going through the same thing. I've been snoring so bad & sweet Dave (I'd tell you what his nickname is but then I'd have some explaining to do )  will just get up and go play on the computer if I"m keeping him awake. I keep telling him to nudge me awake but he won't do it.  But then he'll end up staying up until the wee hours of the morning playing Lord of the Rings online.  Yes..we are such geeks lol

LOL!!!!  Um............first of all, I'll be talking to Big Daddy tomorrow - does he KNOW you share this stuff??? LOL!!! Right there with ya!!!  My brother, poor guy, has to wear the full face mask, I think he's gotten used to it (or as used to it as you can get), but he constantly complains of being so dried out, even though he puts water in the machine.  Not really sure there's a way to make having to wear it any better.  I do know the respiratory therapists will work with you to find the most comfortable contraption. As far as spontaneous sex.....well, first of all, WHAT is sex?  Sorry, I digress.  I think Big Daddy has the right idea - role playing!!!!  Or you could put the mask on, and he could rip it off right along with your clothes.   Just trying to help!! DH asked me yesterday evening who he was supposed to call again...and I told him that I told you his name was Big Daddy...he just shook his head...lmao...All will be good..he is ready to be the relayer of news

He is a pretty laid back attitude...the song "wind beneath my wings" truly fits him..he is happy to sit in the background and let me shine and do my thing...I love him for that....though sometimes I wish he would be up there with me....He is an introvert, not into going out like I am...but doesnt try to hinder who I am....

I have the CPAP but as soon as I got it, the first few nights with it, I had the water heater turned all the way up to boiling and there just wasn't enough humidity in that air to do me any good.  Besides I normally sleep on my stomach anyway so the CPAP doesn't do me any good.  It's sitting in a corner somewhere in my house.
