Good morning!!  Hope everyone is well!!! Today I'm grateful for: 1.  Dinner out - Having dinner tonight at PF Chang's in White Marsh. 2.  Scented candles - I bought Yankee's Sun & Sand - I think I'm hoping it'll make work more fun.  Yeah, uh-huh. 3.  Fresh summer fruit - Yum!!!  Too bad there's no protein in fruits and veggies - I'd rather have them. Have a great day everyone!!! Tia

Here's what I got today. 1.  Coworkers that are noticing a change in me.  Eventhough my scale isn't. 2.  Being empowered to say NO.  Sometimes it feels sooooo good. 3.  Tomorrow is NEW YORK CITY ~ New york city?  Fun and free and no stress weekend!!!!!  Shopping and touring and eating (I'm going to have a bite - of everything).  Watchout beach go-ers.  At 5:00 tomorrow, I'm going to be going opposite all that beach traffic.  Get out of my way!!! WOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!!!

Hey Lisa - I'm SOOOOOOOOO envious of your upcoming weekend!!!  I hope you guys have a blast.  If you get a chance and want to go for a drink - head to McSorley's Pub - it's the oldest Irish pub in the U.S.  If you order their beer - you automatically get two.  Can't go wrong with that. As far as food, don't deprive yourself, but I bet you'll be amazed at how a bite or two of everything will satisfy you. Have a blast!!! Tia

Lisa, Enjoy your trip to NYC!  I grew up in the NY metro area so I am sort of jaded about it and take NYC for granted, but it really is an awesome place to visit.   We went for a weekend and stayed with a cousin of Mr Mo's who lives down in Greenwich Village and had a blast doing and seeing things we hadn't seen/done in years. Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

Mo: We're staying at the Embassy Suites in Manhattan, supposed to be right across from the world trade center site.  I think it's a great, great place to visit, but I don't think I'd want to live there.  I like my big house (compared to NYC apartments) and my yard.

Hey Lisa! I thought you'd be in midtown, but that's lower NYC.  Anyway, since you're right by the site, if you haven't been already, visit St. John's Church, which is directly across the street. It's the place where the first bodies/injured were taken after 9/11, then it was used as an emergency operations center/command post for a while. It's also the church where George Washington prayed after his inauguration; they have his pew there. The most awe inspiring thing is that on 9/11, the church was lifted off its foundation THREE times, yet sustained no damage, not even a cracked window.  Amazing.   I just wanted to sob while I was there, but it's something you HAVE to see! Tia: Thanks for the tip.  I thought about trying to avoid this because of all the emotion, but I'm sure I won't be able too.  Such devistation.  I can still remember that day and the photos on the tv.  How awful it was for all Americans and especially the families of the victims.

oh Lisa!!!!  Did you know that this weekend is also NYC's gay pride parade!  That should be a lot of fun!  You'll get to see a lot of scantily clad men on floats!
