I have learned that granola is NOT my friend. Right now it is sitting in my pouch like a ton of bricks and all I want to do is lie down and die.  Is this my first try with granola????? NOPE. Tried it before, loved it but the pouch didn't.....one would think I would have stayed far, far away from it then, right??? NOPE.  Even being almost two years out from WLS there are still times where I push the envelope and do stupid things like this. Will I ever stop doing that stupid stuff 100%? Probably not. LOL BUT I can say that after this I am done with the granola. Thanks....just had to vent

I am sorry sorry you are having this experience with granola - again - LOL (but w/sympathy)! I agree that is the worst feeling. Here's hoping that it passes quickly. Debbie

So what's IN the granola?  Maybe that's it.  Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal is granola-like, but seems to break down easier.   The weird thing about wls is that you HAVE to keep trying the same things, because eventually, it might work.  Except for Chinese - much as I love it, it clearly doesn't love me, and is the only thing in recent memory to get stuck.  Every single time.  I can do hot & sour soup and SOMETIMES wonton, but shrimp and broccoli, egg foo yung - EGG FOO NUH-UH!!!!  BAH!!!  Try some warm tea.   Tia

Just plain with pumpkin seeds and flax. Got it from Sam's Club. Mom gave me some to try and I loved it but didn't listen to the pouch. Only 5 grams sugar which I like. :-) I just think it's too heavy and absorbs too much liquid for me. Once it's in it's too much for me to handle.......HMMMM could that be the issue????  Love Chinese but I'm the same way.....sometimes it's good other times forget it!

Reading this string makes me sooo glad that I didn't go RNY.  I have a VBG w/Sleeve (a band) but have never had anything get stuck.  I also don't have to worry about sugars/dumping because nothing is rerouted.

Eric - And I'm glad I didn't have any band of any type - I'd probably be able to eat right through that bad boy!!!!  All I can say is, THANK GOD FOR SUGAR INTOLERANCE!!!  Now if they'd told me I could never eat pizza again, I'd have had to rethink that!!!  LOL!!! Can't food still get stuck at your opening?  Wait....that sounded weird, but you know what I mean!!!  LOL!!! Tia

I'm not sure you eat right through a band?!?! I suppose I could get food stuck but it has been 11 months (as of yesterday) and hasn't happened yet.  Hmmm, hope I haven't jinxed myself.

Well, yeah, the lapband, because as you "lose" your fill, it gets looser, thereby allowing you to eat more.  If you don't maintain your fills, you can, as with any wls, gain all of your weight back, plus some. Heather Modispaw's the only lapbander that I've seen up close and personal (yes, Maryland Board, we slept together!!! LOL!!!), and I've SEEN her discomfort when something didn't "sit" right.  Ain't pretty. Yes, that's right - you're coming up on surgiversary and bday all rolled into one big ball of hot!!!! T

I don't have a Lap Band, I had the vertical banded gastroplasy with sleeve gastrectomy.  Say that three times really fast.  The band I have is permanent.  No fill port, no tubes, no fills... Just a permanent band about the size of a dime, which is the smallest size a Lap Band would ever go.   Yep, surgiversary and bday on same day!  Woohoo.  I'm not so excited about the bday so I'll celebrate the surgery instead.  BTW, I'm still UNDER my goal weight and holding steady!
