Just an update

I had the On Q pump and I think it worked well. The only thing is mine leaked some just made me a little wet in the are where it was. Even with the leak I would have it again, because I do think it helped with the pain.  Stay ahead of the pain while you have the pump in other words pump it every 6minutes even if you don't think you need it.   You will do very well.  Dr. Averbach is a fantastic surgeon man of few words but excellent with what he does. If there is anything I can do please let me know.

Is it just numbing meds or a synthetic narcotic?

It's a numbing medication like a novacaine at the Dentist.

Definately take the ON-Q, its well worth it.  And its so simple to take out yourself, i didn't feel a thing compared to the drain they pulled out of me the day i came home from the hospital.  If you have any problems with the anesthesia, don't hesitate to tell them.  I had a wonderful woman anesthesiaologist and told her how the last surgery I woke up from I was sick for 24 hours.  She put a patch behind my ear that they usually use for motion sickness and what ever she put in the "****tail" i had, it was wonderful.  I woke up with not one bit of nausea.  Good luck to you and congrats...
