Everyone,
Went to the cardiologist today to follow up on my othostatic hypotension. The good news is that he does not believe it is heart related. He did an EKG and it was the same as it was prior to surgery. To be on the safe side they are going to do an echocardiagram next Thursday. The bad news is that still leaves the problem, so I have to take the medication Mitodrene 3 times a day for three months and then return for a follow up with the Cardiologist. He also told me it is possible that because my body is going through so many metobolic changes this is happening. The other problem it could be is with my autonomic system, because of other symptoms, so I have an appointment with the Endocrinologist on July 12th to check up on that. I also will be following up on Friday with my PCP. The cardiologist told me I can excercise one the medication regulates my system with the blood pressure. I really don't like to take the mitodrine because of side effects but unlesss I want to be confined to a chair or bed, I will need to and hope and pray the problem goes away as fast as it came.
Terri:
I sure hope things get figured out FAST! I know the frustration you are feeling. I have just started getting in all of my fluids. It was trial and error but I have found that hots work better for me. Give me a call when you feel up to it. Deb
Awww, hugs!!! I'm SO glad it's not heart related, but still sorry you have to go through all of this so soon after surgery, too!!!
Please know that I'm thinking of you and let me know if I can do anything!
