I just tried something new for lunch today......1/2 cup fat free refried beans, 2 TBSP of medium salsa and a wedge of laughing cow cheese (low fat...which is 50% of regular.....)  Tasty but I ate the cheese first that was almost enough for me!  LOL  all you 'tween weeks after surgery should give it a try if you like mexican food at all.

Aaron I am a laughing cow cheese JUNKIE!  Love the stuff and I did a ton of beans.  Try Hummus it is chick peas and there is protein in that as well.  There is a ton of flavors or you can make your own. Hugs Kristen

Hey Kristen! I was a HUGE hummus junkie before surgery.  Are you still making it with olive oil?  I know Olive Oil is a good fat and is preferred over butter but are you making it the regular way with the streaming of olive oil in it or just spoonfuls?  I'm a bit scared to go into dumping land. Hugs!  Aaron

Aaron there is no sugar so you should not dump.  I still use olive oil, I just don't use a lot.  If you go onto Foodnetwork.com there is some good ideas there for hummus, again it is protein so it is good stuff.  I like mine spicy with a big kick!  I love anything spicy, the hotter the better in my world! Hugs Kristen

Kristen,  I am totally with you regarding the spicier the better.  I love spicy.  I have found since surgery I love things that have spicy or savory flavors much more than sweet.

Kristen...next time we have the glen burnie meeting I should bring you some of Ben's home made chili...You like hot and spicy, this will have you wiping your eyes and nose constantly.  He makes his "fire house chili" and it will clean out your sinus's as soon as you take a whiff of it.  Has 3 different kinds of hot chili peppers in it.  will make your lips tingle...lol..I can't eat it hot..have to make mine with no spice in it....

Girl I was eating hot sauce 3 weeks after RYN, it has been nuts since.  I was eating wasabi peas as a snack at 5 weeks.  I am just a hot head! Hey, how are you? Hugs Kristen

Aaron, I loved the fat free refried beans in the early days! I put a little taco seasoning in them, and melted a little skim cheese over - a great treat when you are used to protein shakes and powder mixed into soup or pudding! :) You are doing GREAT!!! Keep it up!
