3 THINGS FOR THURSDAY!

Hi everyone!  I didn't speak with Cira last night, wanted to give everyone a chance to get home and rest and reconnect.  I knew she'd call if she needed me, but she needed SLEEP more!!  So I got an email from her, they got home okay, spent some time together and everyone passed out.  She's got lots of errands to run today, including a follow-up with Gia's ped.  So, keep your fingers crossed.  I keep getting lots of PM's wondering what people can do.  Short of prayer, there's nothing else that Cira would ask.  However, if you REALLY want to do something for them, my suggestion would be to cook something for them - soup, a casserole, anything that they can freeze and reheat.  And put it in a container that you don't care about getting back, that way she doesn't have to worry about returning things. So my big thing is that I'm grateful they're home.  That's the first step.   Others: 1.  Funny signs - I saw a GREAT bumper sticker this a.m.  "I haven't sold my soul to Satan, but we did work out a rent to own deal!"  Another one, "I believe in dragons, fairy tales, good men and other mythical creatures," "Cat - The OTHER white meat!" and I have a sign in my office that says, "Don't make me get the flying monkeys!"  This kind of stuff appeals to my twisted sense of humor and never fails to make me smile!!! 2.  For KB - That school is FINALLY over!!!  I know they're both SO happy - they did great in school again, B got all A's & B's and we're waiting for K's report card to come in the mail.  They HATE having to go to summer daycamp, but what can you do? 3.  Girlfriends - I'm very fortunate to have a circle of close friends, and although I actually have more male friends than female, there's NOTHING like a girlfriend, old or new (although I prefer my friends to be older than me or at least look it!) Sometimes, I feel like our lives are like "Sex & the City," except that we don't have the men.  Or the bags.  Or the clothes.  Or the shoes.  Or the apartment in NYC.  Oh, hell, okay, there are NO similarities, but work with me people!!!!  LOL!!! Your turn!!  Have a great day everyone!!! Tia

1.  That Cira and Gina are home where they belong 2.  For family dinners-  I don't have many of those anymore-  most nights at the gym;      So last night my bro& sister  in law, parents, sister&  bro in law and niece and I went      out and had a nice meal together  -  no fights or spats just a nice time- and good food      just a lot less of it eaten by me LOL 3.  For the Wii my darling brother and brotherinlaw hooked up for me yesterday -      going to be a good thing to have around on non- gym days -  and its fun too. 4.   That we are getting the whole family together in OC the last weekend in June -       My parents 60th anniversary -  so some of us are staying in my oldest      brothers condo and the rest will get hotel rooms    -  Yes my family gets on      my nerves at times but I love them dearly and getting all of us together is  a      major  accomplishment.

I'm glad to hear that Cira and her family are home and getting some much needed rest. I will continue to pray for them all.

1. My work buddies. Last night was my first night back in a month (I've been out due to having cellulitis in my leg) and they threw a small welcome back party and all they even took up a small collection for me since I didn't get paid for some of the time I was out. I feel blessed to work with such great people.

2. Summer fruits and veggies. It makes my pre-op diet so much easier to have great in season produce, including the yummy nectarines I picked up last night.

3. Good gossip. Not the malicious, hurtful type of gossip, but the fun, juicy kind of gossip that makes going to work more interesting. I had a ton to catch on last night and it made the night fly by!

Happy Thursday everyone!

I agree with the sentiments for Cira and family and continue to think and pray for them daily. 1 - For trying new things at the gym. At my second Pilates Reformer class last night, the trainer tried some new things. You know that feeling you get when you are doing things right and you can feel the muscles responding and stretching? it is a good feeling and I felt it last night.  2 - That I finally heard from my friend that lives in the Timonium area. They were not affected by the storm the other night. I was worried because I know that they have a number of large trees on and close to their property. Since Timonium was hard hit, I was worried. I am relieved. 3 - That we are down to the day before implementation at work. This project continues to be stressful, but we are making progress. I have my fingers crossed that we get through the next 2 days OK. I am truly looking forward to a mental break this weekend. I need it baaaaad! So I am thankful for the anticipation of being thankful! Am I weird or what?! Best wishes to all! Debbie

Hello Everyone, It is so happy to hear everyone has positive stuff going on in their lives and that Baby Gia is home and Cira has caught up on some sleep. Will continue to pray for them.   I will also tell you about a bumper sticker I saw last week it's not that funny but it is somewhat true- it said "Welcome to Maryland- What's in your wallett?" Ok now to move on to my three things 1) Great Co workers and a wonderful boss who has called me several times to check on me and send me a card - he is the best!!! 2) Am able to move around some with minimal dizziness 3) Talked to my sister on the phone yesterday and that was nice she lives in Colorado!!!  It's times like this I wish she lived here.  Hope everyone has a nice day!

No fooling .. my sister used to have a bumper sticker on her car that said ...  I haven't been the same since that house fell on my sister  (goes with your flying monkeys .. ) 1)  That baby Gia is home and I pray on her way to a complete recovery with no more bumps in the road

2)  Friends . both real and cyber.   I have a g/f in Georgia that I met on the internet, it was like we had an instant connection and when we met in person last month I knew immediately who she was seeing her walking toward me, and I feel as if we are sisters born to different parents!  She is a wonderful Christian lady (and you might wonder how she got mixed up wtih me . lol) and has been a wonderful source of support and prayer as I have shared about Baby Gia with her. 3) It's one day closer to the weekend, tho my projects here in the office are not progressing and I need another 3 days to catch up! I think we are headed to Towson this weekend (Saturday) to the Fire Museum of Maryland for a parade thing.   There's a bull roast but I do not believe Mr Mo purchased tickets, so that is a no go.   As far as I know we are not taking out truck, but will go see everything else. Have a wonderful Thursday! Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

Yo my peeps. Ditto on Cira and Gia. I'm very happy they are home! 1. It's been four months and 65 lbs since my surgery. Time is flying by, i tell you. 2. I tried on this tankini swimsuit I've had since when I was a lot smaller and I actually fit in it again. Still shocked about that. 3. That it's almost the weekend. I am visiting my parents and hopefully the weather won't screw up my pool time.

Thursdays: 1.  Okay Tia, I'm copying, but I saw a good bumper sticker too "I didn't shoot my ex, but my aim is getting better." 2.  That in just 2 weeks I will be "sex in the city."  A good friend and I are going to NYC for the weekend.  Girls weekend away and I can hardly wait.  Okay we don't have the clothes or the shoes or the penthouse apartment, but I'm willing to poop my pants (LOL ~ just kidding). 3.  That I got confirmation from my doctor yesterday that I'm doing all the right things.  I'm going to bump up my workout by 5 minutes and gradually increase speed and I feel like I'm on the right path.  Now if I could just get the scale to agree with me.
