Hear ye hear ye!
Aaron,
First of all Congrats. That is amazing. What a great accomplishment to achive.
I will be there soon giving you a run for the money. hehe
I went to a support group meeting in crofton and Heather and Kelly told me to just go to the surgeon and let them fight my insurance to approval. Heather said that she has the same insurance as me and was able to get it covered. So we will see. I am not done yet. Also my mother talked to the doctor that wanted me to have the surgery as she works for him. He said that he had no problem with doing it on my own and that if I hit a platue and stopped lossing then he would write an appeal to the insurance company. He just thinks since I am doing so well on my own that I could do it on my own. Mom and I were talking and I carry the diebetic gene so I am going to try and do the surgery through the surgeon and see what happens there as I do not want to become dibetic in the mean time while trying to loss weight. I will keep you posted to what happens. just wanted to give you the heads up to the insurance problems since you were so kind to post on my posting.
Keep up the good work and know that if I have any questions I will be coming to you for receipes and all the other people here that are doing so well. Take care my friend. Kellie

Hi Kellie!
You know when I was pre-op and I lost a lot of weight prior (because my surgeon wanted me to lose 60 pounds prior) everyone told me that I was doing such a great job of losing the weight, why have the surgery? My blanket answer to that was "even though it was easy to come off, it's even easier to get back on and I don't want that to happen.....it's so much easier to give up when you do hit that plateau and then just get discouraged and pack on the weight again....it's not healthy." Now after a month or so out, I can safely say that I can say goodbye to that excess weight forever!
Keep fighting and keep losing!!! In the end, either way you're going to benefit and yes the docs can work out something for you if you choose not to go through the insurance company. Most doctors are very passionate about making YOU healthy and many of them will give HUGE discounts to those whose insurance will not cover the surgery. Especially if they see a real need for it.
Keep goin hon!
HUGS
Aaron
