New Support Group Ideas - Eastern Shore??

I know we have support groups in Glen Burnie, Crofton and at some of the hospitals which is really good, now that I seem to be getting better I plan to attend the Glen Burnie one next month, as I will be back to work and I work on that side of the Bridge.   I noticed we have a few members that post that live on the Eastern Shore side of the Bay Bridge. I would like to get some thoughts and ideas on starting a support group monthly over here.  If anyone doesn't mind traveling over the bridge all would be welcome, pre ops, post ops, etc.   A few locations I was thinking about would be  Easton, Chester, Stevensville, Centreville, Queenstown.  Please let me know if you would be interested and any suggestions to a location, date, time, etc.   I  am willing to do the legwork and find us a location, and set up a structure for the groups. 

Well, I don't fall into any of those locations; HOWEVER, I will be in Ocean City from July 19-26, so I think we need to get together sometime that week, all of us.  We've rented a big condo, so anyone who passes out from too much alcohol (be it sugar or the real stuff), can crash on the floor!!!! It's bayfront, perfect for dumping bodies should the need arise!!!  LOL!!! Seriously, let's get together!! Tia

Hi!  I have applied to become an OH Support group leader here on the Shore.  We had talked about this last week I think.  Easton would be a central location but is still an hour away from me.  I drive that now to attend a meeting in DE.  Maybe we can work together to find a place to hold the meetings.  I know that support is important and going to Baltimore just once a month doesn't always work for some people.  Deb

I work in Easton and would be more than happy to scout around for a location to hold our meetings.  Let me know if you would like the help.

If you want to talk about it on the phone PM and let me know I will send you my numbers.   Any ideas, would be great.   I think you did mention getting a church for free?   Even though on this board it seems like it is just the 3 of us on the shore, there are others I am quite sure.  I know free ads can be placed in the newspapers for something like this.     Thanks for responding

OK, there seems like there is at least four of us that would like to start a support group. I had an idea, let me know what you think. Perhaps, we could arrange to meet in Easton somewhere for an informal meeting, maybe for tea, or coffee somewhere to discuss how we could go about it.  If this would work please PM me some dates and maybe we could exchange some contact numbers to set up the specifics.   Right now I am available almost anythime as I still out of wor****il the 23rd.  Have a great day!!

Terri: I'll do whatever it takes to get a meeting here.  I need the help.  Any of those locations is closer to me than Glen Burnie.

terri, i would be very interested if there was a support group on the eastern shore. easton would be a good place because it is in the middle of the shore.  sweetheart59
