Sleep study my butt!

I just got home from my sleep study and talk about getting NO sleep. It was horrible! LOL I am SOOOO glad that's over with! I wonder if those beds could be any more uncomfortable. I feel like I hardly slept, but they said they got enough data, so apparently I must have dozed at some point. So now I just have to wait for the results to see if I'll need a CPAP for the surgery. Cross your fingers for me that I WON'T need one!

LOL! I remember my sleep study and you are so right! I usually can sleep just about anywhere, but not there. I also waited for my results, but did not really get them until right before surgery (a MD office communication issue). At that point it was too late to pursue the CPAP (I did have sleep apnea), so I went forward without. It did not cause a problem for me during surgery that I know of. Now, the symptoms that I used to be aware of, waking up coughing or gasping for air in the middle of the night (usually after a late, heavy meal), do not happen any more. My fingers are crossed for you! Debbie

Hey Brandi!!!  Glad to see you made it through the Sleep Study!  The worst part for me was getting all those wires hooked up.  And the beds, yeah, they suck...lol T

Brandi:  I know just how you feel.  How can anyone sleep with all the wires.  I'm a side sleeper and they made me turn on to my back.  I felt like I was awake all night long.  Then when I went for my follow up, the doctor said that they saw such a difference when I was sleeping on my back and that as long as I sleep on my side I should be okay, but since I slept on my back 80% of the time he suggested that I get a CPAP.  I told him that they made me sleep on my back.  I don't think I convinced him.  Hope you don't need one, but they didn't use mine after surgery at all.

I didnt have to do a sleep study for my surgery, but I did do one a few months ago-thanks to my hunny's prodding because I snore too loud/much....lol...

I went to the Sleep Disorder Ctr in Annapolis off of Old Mill Bottom Road. I didnt think I would be able to sleep, but I went to sleep quickly and the beds were AWESOME!! I had a four poster bed, down comforter, plasma tv...I was in my element..lol...

Well, I hate to say it, but I told you so.  UGH!!  I had great accommodations, but UGH!!!  I had to have two, and wisely planned ahead to take off the next day after each one. Just look at it like everything else - a means to an end.  Glad this one is done, anyway! Hugs, Tia

LOL I know what you mean :  my first one I got no sleep at all: the second one I did because i had the Cpap going. I just hated them;  I hate to admit it but I still do sleep better when I use it. sigh  maybe after another 50 Lbs. I can dump that machine all together

Glad you survived it!   Do you know if that is something that Dr. Singh has all his patients do?   How did your psych eval go? I have mine this afternoon at 3, then see Dr. Singh at 4 and Arlene at 5.  I am starting to feel a bit nervous. But am also anxious to find out how quickly they will submit everything to the insurance. I'm ready to get this ball rolling!  Tina
