YouGlowGirl Surgery Update
Hi all,
Tracey had her surgery this morning. I work with her and we just heard from her husband. The surgery took about 1.5-2 hrs and she ended up spending longer than that in recovery. The doc said everything went well. She's experiencing more pain than she thought but has a morphine pump. Tracey says the morphine isn't working but hubby says there are obvious signs that it is.
Tracey, if/when you read this... welcome to the loser's bench!

Yowza!
After having surgery on Tuesday morning, I just returned from the hospital to my comfy bed. I can't wait to make a bee-line for it, in fact. I'm exhausted.
I experienced a few complications from the surgery, including an "off" blood count, a very high glucose level (and I'm not diabetic), plus multiple run-in with nurses trying to get to my veins - mostly unsuccessfully. I swear, between the IV's, the glucose monitoring, I must have been stuck over 35 times....and I have the bruises to prove it!
I ended up with three blood transfusions and two injections of insulin, too. Seems like I am draining pretty profusely...even now.....with high liquid amounts with bright red coloring. Surely it will be tailoring off soon....
After a few hours in a regular hospital room, I was moved for two full days to the Surgical ICU. It was a really noise place, but I did receive some really excellent service there. After the SICU, I was later sent up to the nicest hospital room in the joint. Seriously, it was freakin' awesome! HUGE, large screen tv, massive shower, and all other kids of goodies. I have no idea how I scored that room, but I am really appreciative for it, because it did allow me to get some quiet and privacy.
I'm off to drink in a little more protein and some more meds before heading off to sleep. I'm exhausted.
I get to see my 2 1/2 year old son tomorrow morning, and I can't wait. I've missed him so much.
