Thanks, it encouraging to know it may just take me awhile. I just tried to eat a tiny bit of peaches canned unsweetned with some cottage cheese and it seems like I was getting a bad case of indigestion. I guess I will continue on the soft/puree until I am ready. You lost 70 lbs that is really great!!!
When I was switching from purees to solids, I threw up at least daily. And that was at about 5 weeks out. I've found out that I really cannot eat meat. It seems to just ball up in my pouch and it won't go down. So eventually I have to make it come back up.
Some other things you could try that worked for me in that stage were cheddar cheese blocks/sticks, egg salad (but making sure I chewed the whites well), ricotta bake. Lots and lots of popsicles (Edy's no sugar added fruit bars and no sugar added fudgesicles). I also made sugar free pudding with skim evaporated milk. I ate yogurt a lot. I put tuna in the blender with mayo and a little sweet pickle juice.
Actually, things haven't changed much since then for me. I eat a lot of mozz cheese sticks, but they don't chew up as well as cheddar. The only meat I've found I could tolerate is Mama Lucia meatballs. I cook them with a little bit of spaghetti sauce and put parm on them (sometimes shredded mozz). I tried turkey meatballs, but they were too tough. The Mama Lucia kind are soft enough and don't make me sick.
Don't worry about it so much. I did at first but just gave up because my body is not going to agree with my brain, and unfortunately, I have to go with what my body wants.
