Hi TIa, It is orthrostatic hypotension- when I get up and walk my blood pressure drops and I feel weird.  I am fine sitting down, so driving it not an issue I just need to put my feet on the ground first and stand for  a few minutes before walking and once in a while sit down, if I feel weird.  At my post op the doctor told me it was ok to drive as I felt up to it.   I also need to force all the fluid I can get into my body which is always a challenge and just monitor the blood pressure.   Will keep you guys posted on how I am doing.  Thanks for checking it on me, I need it!! !

Hey Terri - Keep a water bottle with you at all times!!!  I promise that getting all your fluids in will get easier. Hang in there! Tia

Hey Tia, send me a PM with Antoinette's info too. I might not be able to go there but I could call. I am sad to hear no one will be with her. I can't imagine it. I had my parents and my hubby there. I couldn't have done it without them. Today I am grateful for: 1. AchievOne drinks. See previous caffeine high post. I am still a bit high but just took a walk so hopefully i will calm down soon. Holy Moly! In the mornings I tend to not want to chew anything so getting my protein in this way works great. i also bought whey gourmet cookies and cream and will start making those in the morning too.  2. My water was shut off yesterday cuz i forgot to pay the bill. I felt like a shmuck but i am grateful that today it will be back on because I could pay over the internet instead of actually driving to the payment office. I'm also grateful i have running water, unlike 3/4 of the world.  3. Listening to Eckhart Tolle's book "the new earth" on my IPOD. It is really helping me become free of my negative behaviors and emotions so i can live my life in the right way. Today I am so happy because I think it's actually sinking in. The key is repetition, over and over and over. lol. my friend Val, who had the surgery over a year ago, suggested i listen to something positive. it is working and i'm so grateful for that. i will keep listening until i have memorized the book! it's nine hours long on tape!!! if anyone wants it, let me know. i can burn you cd's.

Hey Nicole - Yeah, I felt really bad for her, too, but couldn't push my luck at work to take off to stay with her today.  She won't know if anyone is there or not, anyway, until much later.  I'll update you when I have more info! I'm glad you're being proactive and doing what you need to do for YOU!!! Hugs, Tia

Tia, I felt bad I couldn't stay with Antoinette.  Gino works today.  I never got her last name so :-( I should have asked her. Darn it!  I was so flustered this morning with making a 30 minute drive into an hour and 45 minute drive that it didn't even cross my mind.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Hey Cira - Well, I have her cell #, so I guess if I don't hear anything, I'll call her or maybe Unit 48, where we all were after our surgeries.  I'll track her down somehow! That was so nice of you to take her - I should've warned you about the Beltway, that's my drive every day!  No wonder I'm such a witch!!! LOL!!! Tia

Today I am thankful for: 1. 17 days left until my move 2. That I finally made it to Antoinette's house and got her to the hospital by 8:32am 3. That we bought frontloaders LG Washer & Dryer yesterday and it will be delivered on June 24th!   I can't wait to use them!   lol

I am grateful that I only have six (6) more days until my surgery.  Yippppeeeeeee! I am grateful to have MissT (Tanya) in my life to pass on some really valuable information regarding my surgery, and to encourage me to do well in my WLS journey, and to care enough about me to offer sound advice.  She's an awesome friend! I am grateful to have never thrown anything away....I still have a closet full of clothes from when I was smaller that I can wear when the time comes.  It'll save me so much money on a new wardrobe it's not funny.  Having said that...I do fully intend to splurge once-in-a-while on new clothes and shoes.  Hey...I have to reward myself somehow, right?

I am an thankful for 1 - the Maryland Forum, an obiously caring and supportive group of people. My thoughts and best wishes go out to all! 2 - That I can work from home today! 3 - That I am looking forward to the adventure of my first Pilates Reformer class tonight. (Darla has convinced me this will be fun and she hasn't steered me wrong yet!)
