Post Op Concerns- Low Blood Pressure
For the past four days days I have been having problems maintaining by blood pressure when standing and walking. I am ok if I am sitting or laying (this isn't helping me excercise). I called the Doctor on Sunday morning and he told me to stop the Arixtra shots and said if I got worse go to the ER at St.Agnes. I stopped the shots but am still having the problems I was hoping the blood thinners were the cause but I don't think so. Other than the Blood Pressure Problem I feel good, the soreness in my stomach is almost gone. I am so frustrated and hope and pray the doctor can resolve it. I have my one week post up today at 11am/. I will let you know the outcome. Has anyone out there experienced this? Terri
Terri, I have had a problem with orthostatic hypotension since surgery. I was taking medication for a heart condition that was to decrease my heart rate. Some take it for high BP. One week postop I started taking 1/2 the dose due to low BP. By 3 weeks out I stopped taking it totally. I follow up with my cardiologist every 3 months just for my regular cardiac monitoring. When I wake in the morning I have to get up slowly. I go from laying to sitting to standing. I also cannot get out of a chair too quickly or boy do I think I am going to pass out. I hear the ocean in my head and feel "whoosy". Best of luck to you.
I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
