thanks. i am very excited... but a little lost.
i mean i know what dr. roe is going to do and about the liquid diet after wards, but i feel like i'm at a loss now. i mean it's 3 weeks away. isn't there something i'm supposed to be doing now? i have my preop appt with him on the 10th and with my pcp on the 16th.... but until then.... ?

You know I felt that way too. A lot of DR's I read had patients do a liquid diet, or a bowel prep etc. Dr Roe doesn't require any of that. THANK GOODNESS! I will recommend that you take these last few weeks to just educate yourself as much as possible and try your best to relax. As I said at support group, the main thing I would have done differently was to prepare meals ahead of time for my family. That was the hardest part for me afterward. Other than that, I would suggest going for a walk everyday to build up your stamina and help with strength afterwards.
I also knew that while eventually most foods are able to be consumed again, I knew that my favorite chinese dishes were not going to be an option. Deep fryed with lot's of batter etc. So I did enjoy quite a few last meals at my favorite spots, Not that I am recommending that ;)
But seriously I think we all do it.
