I feel the need to write what I ate yesterday and I need to do it now.  I am wondering if it is as bad as I thought.  I did drink all my fluids and I took my vitamins.  Now, the damage. B - 1/2 c chili, topped with a cheese stick and a 1/16 slice of sugar free apple pie (small but tasted really good) S - grapefruit L - 1/2 tuna sandwich, 8 soy crisps S - watermelon (very tasty) D - 1/2 turkey and pepperjack sandwich S - 1/2 c Greek yogurt with blueberries Maybe it's not so bad but man it seems like a lot of food.  I'm currently taking steroids and (sorry guys) but it's that time.  But yesterday is the first time since surgery that I really felt I was not treating my self well.  Makes me sad, but today is another day.

Kim - I think it's great.  You've clearly got a handle on portions, and although it may seem like you're eating more, (and yes, you probably are), our pouches stretch normally over time, so cut yourself some slack.  1/16 slice of a pie?  Get real - what would it have been pre-op????  Remind yourself of your pre-op eating habits and look at how far you've come.  Keep in mind that I have a hard time eating bread, so the ONLY thing I might have done different is foregone the bread.  But that's it - everything else looks great to me!!!  So no beating yourself up!!!  That's an order!!! Mine - all my fluids, all my vits B - Greek yogurt concoction L - Deli turkey, roast beef & cheese, Triscuits D - Pasta shells with meat sauce S - Brownie (they are GONE) Tia

What all of you are eating I can only hope for at a year or so out!  Tia, you gave me somthing to look foward to with what you had for dinner OMG>>>>>>>>>>>>>>! I would be happy.  I am one week post op and am struggling with eating but I know this is normal.   I have called Arlene in Dr. Averbach's office (shes the nutritionist)  about my concerns.  I ate yesterday:  Breakfast Cream of wheat  3 tablespoons with a ltitle skim milk in it Snack -Baby food Pears  They are out of here I will never do that again !! Lunch- Cottage Cheese Lowfat - 1/4 cup Snack SF Jello Proteine Shake  Dinner- 1/4 cup of plan tomatoe soup w/ a splash of pepper- it was good! Snack cup of Chamomile Tea  I did not get as much fluid in as I would have liked to or protien. I forget to ask the arlene if I could have coffee decafinated- I want one so bad I feel like I need a fix!   If anyone out there knows please let me know. Thanks Have a great day  Terri

Terri - Honey, all in good time.  Keep in mind that pre-op, I would've eaten a whole order of shells and meat sauce, plus several slices of bread and butter.  Now, it's only a couple shells, because my pouch doesn't like pasta much, and more meat sauce and cheese than anything.  Truly, after all this time, my way of eating doesn't seem strange at all! Well, maybe substitute a protein shake or half a shake for the Cream of Wheat. I was allowed to have decaf coffee, heck, add a protein shake as a creamer - more bang for your buck!!! Hang in there! T

Brandi, I am so glad you are joining us. It is very important to be accountable and girl you are doing great! You are going to lose the weight your surgeon wants you to in not time.  Make sure to drink 8 glasses or more of water throughout the day.

Hi Kim, You really did great in your eats for yesterday.   Just like Tia said cut yourself some slack girl. When I was pre-op I would start with one slice of pie and go back every hour for another slice until it was all gone!!   You are fine!!  I eat bread whole wheat or multi grain and you really did not have a lot of it. ICongrats on doing good.  If you enter the food you ate at fitday.com or sparkpeople.com you will see that you really did great yesterday.

Hang in there!  Every day can't be perfect! I just got back from 2 days of work in Chicago, where the hosting office had tables of cookies, chips, cheese and crackers, coffee etc out all day long. And working lunches included huge subs (I managed to double the turkey and half the bread) and pizza one day (1/2 slice of stuffed Chicago Pizza did me in). Then I hung out at an airport with PMS and the munchies really ugly bad.  But today is another day - and all we can do is bru**** off, pick it up, and start over each day! :)

Amen!!!  Doncha wish people would wise up to the alarming obesity rate and put out platters of veggies, fruits and cheeses????   And I STILL eat pizza - I'd have slapped DVR if he said no - but now, it's always thin crust, and one piece plus the topping off another, not the 6-8 pieces plus salad it would've been before. No one said this was gonna be easy, we're always gonna have to work for it! Tia
