Congrats! I wouldn't stress too much about not having things right now. You will have time after surgery to get proteins etc. You will be drinking broths for a few days. I would get some sugar free popscicles. They rock right afterwards!
Best of luck to you!

The love of my OH Family has me humbled!!!!
Wow, that is so fast!
I would like to say that chewable vits are a must for the first few months. I got the ones from bariatric advantage. They are made specifically for those of use with a pouch. I get the multivit. and the calcium. You can get a sample box for around $10, to see what flavors you like. There are some essential vitamins that we need, that are not in the kids vits. (like selenium)
I had a lot of sugar free jello, but honestly it tasted too sweet to me. So you may want a few but until you know what happens with your taste don't go overboard with anything.
GNC has a protein water. I liked that for the first few days, that way I was killing 2 birds with one stone so to speak. Fluid and protein.
Take chapstick, my lips were so dry after the surgery that I couldn't use that enough. I would also take some slippers or light weight shoes that are EASY to get off and on. I had a difficult time getting the hospitals on to walk in the halls.
I also would suggest an ipod, of book, or whatever you find comforting.
I am not sure of your family situation, but if you are the "cook" in the house, I would spend some time this weekend freezing some meals. Honestly that was the hardest thing for me the first few days.
Most importantly- Take a POSITIVE ATTITUDE! You will recover much faster and easier. Take the time YOU need, and remember that for the next few months you need to put YOU first. Enjoy getting to know the new you.
One other piece of advice, DON'T TEST YOUR POUCH.
I hear so many people say they wish they never ate that first sweet, or tryed to see what they could get away with. I feel so sad for those people. I do not for one minute regret doing this, but I also didn't do ALL of this to go back to my old ways. Remember, if you do what you have always done you will get the results that you have always gotten. This is an opportunity for a new life, ENJOY IT!
God Bless you, and I hope that your surgery and recovery are as sooth as possible.
