Bra shopping

I just had a really good experience shopping for bras.  I am almost 4 years out from surgery and increasingly frustrated by my 'back fat' after losing 175 lbs.... with too many bras this area is not contained by the band and just plain hurts.

I noticed a tiny little shop on Rt 40 in Ellicott City near the Normandy Bowling lanes.  I finally went in there last week.  Mattie specializes in fitting... really fitting!  She was very respectful and worked to find a comfortable bra that did the job and felt pretty!  She must have brought me 10 different brands and styles, helping me to understand the differences. She even makes alterations... I've never heard of having your bra altered!

Thanks for the heads up I am going to have to stop by there. I have not had surgery yet, but the little bit of weight that I have lost on my own has caused me to start buying new clothes. The first thing that I need to replace is my swim suit and I see she has some there. How did she compare in price is this place a little on the expensive side if I might ask.

I have also wanted a pretty bra and I can not find them all I have is is crapping white ones. I can not wait for the day that I can have my panties and bra to match.

Thanks again for the heads up.

From my standpoint she was a little pricey.  I normally buy at Walmart - 10-15$. At Mattie's I got 2 very pretty bras for $54.  One was on sale for $22. I'm sure she could find you something pretty for your pre-op stage... The first bra I saw on the rack was a 54i and it was quite pretty... not institutional and white. Good luck in your journey. Everything you dream of is coming to you because you are chasing it!

Hey Genna - Glad what is usually frustrating turned out to be pleasant for you!!!  Yeah, I hate the rear boobage. With the lack of customer service in the world, it's amazing to find places like this.  There's also a shop in Pikesville called We Fit.  If you can handle the somewhat snobby attitude, they DO know what they're doing. I will definitely keep Mattie in mind!!! Thanks for chiming in!!! Tia

Thanks for the tip.  I just saved the link in my favorites for later.  I like also the lane bryant cacique microfiber balconette bras.  I bought a couple online after reading posts on OH from ladies who love the fit, and it's true, the fit is great.
