9 month update and I had another flood!!!

Hi. Well last week was 9 months out from surgery. I am down 112 pounds and 135 pounds all together. I am wearing size 20 dresses and tops and 24 bottoms and 2X's down from 38W and 6X's.

We had another flood in the lower level of our split foyer but have finally put that to bed with a visit from a water proofing company. They did a fantastic job. We have had torrential rains and the basement has not leaked. They put in a subpump. They had to dig down to the foundation in a 12 inch trench to put it in all around the basement. Yes, they do it from the inside now. OY!! So it takes 28 days for the concrete to dry. Then we can fix the dry walls and relay the carpets. Hopefully this will be the end of this problem.

My 9 month labs were less then perfect. Had issues with pre-albumin, Iron, HCT, RBC, liver enzyms etc. But I am having very good luck getting it managed between my PCP and the new dietician at Bayview. She is very savvy with the DS and what she doesn't know she researches.
You can read more on my profile.

Hope all are doing well. Joteddie

Jo, you look absolutely amazing. If you feel 1/2 as good as you look, you must be fabulous! So sorry that you  had more water damage. I'm relieved for you that it wasn't like the last time. Sounds like it's under control now. Great to "see" you, and hope you'll have time to stop by more often. You're an inspiration, as always!!
Hugs!

Yikes, Jo, not again!!!!  Gosh, I am SO sorry this happened again, although nowhere near as bad as the last time. Don't forget - we're waiting to see the fancy dress you wore to Antrim 1844. Tia

Hey Jo,  Sorry to hear about the basement. I had friends in Pasadena that had to have the same thing done to their basement and now it looks great and no more flooding. And don't you just LOVE the the new dietician at Bayview? I have only been to see her for my pre-op visit but she really seems to care and know what she's talking about.  And you look great. Keep up hte good work, Candie

Jo, It is wonderful to see you looking so great and sad about your basement, hopefully the issue is completely resolved. I was actually thinking about you yesterday since we are going to Rocky gap next week ( every Memorial or July 4th or Laber day weekend) for the past 5 years with friends, and we sometimes stay or visit Cumberland, so wish you the best in this holiday and keep up your good work, Ellie

Looking great Jo!  Congratulations on your success so far.   Sorry about all of your flooding but I am glad you are getting things taken care of to not have this anymore.  I often wonder about our house because we have some issues on the outside with water not running away from the house.  It worries me that we will be flooded if we don't do something.   I know all about having a hard time with keeping blood levels where they should be.  I struggle to get enough iron and calcium.  I am finally at normal levels - first time in almost 2 years.  I am very diligent about taking my iron, calcium multi vit, Vit A and B-12.  I wasn't very good about taking them and it really showed not only in my labs but in how I was feeling.  Now I am doing much better and work hard to keep it up.  So take all of your supplements!  I know with DS it is even more difficult than with By-pass so keep working it.   Hugs, Robin

Jo, You look fantastic! I am so glad that your dr's are taking care of you.  Do you know why your levels are off?  Do you take all the vitamins that the RNYers take? Sorry I don't know too much about the DS. I am sorry you are going through yet another flood. Many you guys need a break from all that. I hope the water proofers do a great job. I had flooding here too with last week's rains and te owners to rip off the rugs since they left it sitting there for a week the house was stinking bad and I had to call the management company over and over to complain.  We lost some great books and a few book cases and some other misc stuff.  I can't wait to get out of here! Take care and keep up the great work.   By the way we are having a luncheon at Timbuktu on June 8th since we are moving to WV.  Did you get to read the post by TIa?  I hope you can make it I would love to see you again.   Hugs,

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
