NEW DAILY POST!!! THE FEED BAG!!!
today hasn't been a good food day for me. my stomach has been hurting and i've had some cramping and multiple bowel movements. sorry for the tmi. anyway, i only ate one thing today. i took a bagel with egg, sausage and cheese and ate the insides of it. i didn't eat the whole thing so i probably only got about 20 grams of protein. i am starting to feel better tummy wise now so i might venture to eat something now but i might just wait til i get home. i have leftovers from dinner last nigh****er wise i've had 5 glasses of water so far. so at least i am doing ok with that.
Hey Terri -
If I have to be remembered for one contribution to this board, I think it's gotta be Greek yogurt!!!! LOL!!!
I get mine at certain Giants, Trader Joe's carries it (there's one in Annapolis), and there's a gourmet store near me (Gourmet Again), that also carries it. Walmart carries it, too, but the only kind I've seen there have been the blueberry and the honey flavored, and they have too many sugars/carbs for me.
It's processed differently than regular yogurt, therefore, it's thicker and has more protein - 13 g for a 5.3 oz. container. If you leave it unsweetened, you can use it like sour cream or in dips. I sweeten mine with Splenda and add berries and granola for breakfast.
It's not cheap, though, running anywhere from $1.59 to $1.99 for a 5.3 oz. container, and it's available in 0% fat and 2% (I buy the 0%).
I LOVE this stuff!!

Sounds like a diet that I could handle! what type of protein powder are you using and where did you get it? Also, what type of popsicles and brand are you able to tolerate? I already know I will be taking a trip when I am able to after surgery to get a supply of the Greek Yogurt, thanks TIA
Have a Wonderful Day!
Terri
Terri,
I use Unjury protein powder (you have to order it online) and I got 6 big jars of it 2 unflavored, 2 chocolate and 2 vanilla and Caryn gave me the chicken soup flavored which isn't bad at all. 1 scoop = 20 grams of protein. I take a regular recipe of Jello fat free/sugar free pudding and mix in 4 scoops of protein powder. Now it doesn't really set all the way because of the protein powder but it sets enough to be a thicker consistency than milk. I have 1/4 cup of it for just about every meal. Here's a tip. If you're going to make high protein pudding, mix your protein powder with the pudding powder first before you put the milk in. I mean mix it really well. This will lessen the chance of having big protein globs in your pudding and it gives a smoother consistency.
