Hey everybody!  Hope you all had a great weekend.  I spent most of the day with B and his best friend on Saturday, we saw Speed Racer - boy, it sure didn't resemble the cartoon, and it was long, but we had a good time.  And movie popcorn can make even a bad movie good!!  Yesterday, I spent most of the day cooking for the week.  It's going to be a busy one - softball two nights and band concerts on two different nights!! So today, I'm thankful for: 1.  That my pouch clearly works - In addition to the 10 pounds I lost in a week and a half, my pouch is still up and running and still letting me know IT'S the boss!!  On Friday night, I again attempted Chinese food, which pre-op was a staple of my diet, and which post-op, I just haven't been able to tolerate.  So I tried it yet again, only to get it stuck after only a couple of bites.  And it's not the sugar in any of the sauces, it clearly gets STUCK!!!  The problem this time is that all weekend, every time I ate, my pouch hurt, like the Chinese food had bruised it.  So, much as I love it, I think I need to say buh-bye to Chinese food!!  I am SO not into pain!! 2.  That Teri (Sleepless in Severn), got a bunch of her pre-op testing done, and didn't pass out from the ABG test (although she said they had to stick her FIVE times!!!!)  She said she held it together, and finally, after it was done, THEN she cried!!!  Poor thing!!!  She's on vacay this week, so I thought I would post that for her. 3.  That my boss is a fair man.  Last week, I got a written butt-chewing from him, which I absolutely did deserve.  However, he SHOULD'VE been a lot tougher, but went easy on me.  This a.m., I came in, and there's an email thanking me for doing a good job on a project last week.  Hey, as long as he's fair, I'll take my lumps!!!!  Ya gotta respect a man like that! Hope everyone has a great week!!!!! Tia

Hey Tia: Today I am thankful for  1.  Unexpected gifts: a couple weeks ago I saw some things in a catalog for the bathroom       Just a shower curtain: towels  and  some butterfly wall hangings:  I mentioned to       Mom that I would like to spruce up my bathroom a little:  Friday night I got home      and to my surprise there was the shower curtain, towels and wall hanging      already put up in my bathroom . =)  and I was right they look great . 2.  That after working yesterday  ( 5 hours)I still had time to make it too the gym:       I lifted a total of 8800 Lbs., and walked a full hour on the treadmill!!      Then I finished off with 15 minutes in the jacuzzi and another       45 minutes swimming laps. 3.  For the body wave I got in my hair Saturday :  my hair was straight as straight      could be and I was sick of bad Hair days. 4.   That its  Monday and I have my Pilates class tonight  Yes I know I cheated by adding # 4   so sue me HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE

Good morning everyone.  Besides running to the bathroom every 5 minutes, today has started out great:  1.  Eventhough I had to repeat my upper GI this morning, they gave me a gift certificate for a 1/2 hour massage as a consulation prize (that's why I'm running to the bathroom - yuck, yuck) okay gotta stop typing, be right back . . . yuck.  2.  Tomorrow is my "S" day and a re-birth ~ and I've got a lot of learning to do.  3.  My husband, I know I said this before and tonight he'll probably get on my nerves and I'll probably deny that I ever wrote it, but he is getting so nervous for me and he has so been there for me during these past few months. To all of my OH friends . . . see you on the other side!!!!!!!  YIPEEEEEEEE!!!!

Hey Lisa - I was thinking about you first thing this a.m.  Sorry you keep running to the bathroom - but you know what I say - a means to an end (no pun intended!).   Don't worry about learning - it will come and some of it will be trial and error.  It's a good idea for the first couple of weeks to write things down - it's easier to track your water and protein intake that way.  I also journaled how I was feeling, even my emotions.  I laugh now when I look back and read, "God, isn't this freakin' drain tube EVER gonna come out???!!!" Tell Larry it's gonna be great.  If he wants to call me while you're in surgery, I'll be happy to yank him off the ledge.  In any event, make sure he remembers to call me when he finds out you're a loser!!! Good luck, things'll be great and I look forward to hearing from you myself!!! Lots of hugs! Tia

Hey Tia: Thanks for caring!  Just got my time for tomorrow, 11:15.  Gotta be at the hospital at 9:15 so I'll probably leave the house around 7:30.  Seems the bathroom trips have stopped for now, thankfully!!!!  I always journal so I think this will be no different for me afterwards, although I'll probably write more about food than I have previously (LOL).  Say a prayer and I'll let Larry know if this crazy woman (in a nice way) calls and wants to know about me, it's only you. Talk to you soon ~ Lisa

Lisa - Since you said Larry's a bit high strung about all this - make sure you tell him that very often, things do NOT run on schedule, so if he doesn't hear anything when he thinks he should about you, NOT to flip out.   Now, if he hasn't heard anything by NEXT Tuesday, yeah, then he can worry.   Let him know that I'll probably call between 2 and 3, I won't be in the office until after 1 or so anyway. Good luck!!!  Good thoughts and prayers going up for you!!! And if Larry really gets out of hand, shove a Valium hidden in a piece of cheese down his throat - used to work for my dog during thunderstorms!!!  ROFLMBO!!! Tia

Hi everyone!  Here are my three things:  1)Things are finally going good for me.  Today is a happy day.  I had a wonderful weekend.  As Kenny Chesney says - "I live and love and laugh a lot and that's all I need." Yeah baby - that's me.  I think I lost 5lbs from laughing these past 2 weeks.  I think if we all keep our sense of humor we can get thru anything.  After all, there are days when I know God has one - cause he's laughing like hell at me most of the time.  So, enough said - the Preakness was a blast! My date will probably be no more than a good friend, but that is a good thing 2) My sister called me.  I haven't seen/talked to her since Christmas - so this was our bi-annual conversation I guess.  She wasn't too impressed that I've lost about 90 lbs.  Whatever!  Disfunctional families - gotta love them.  3)My daughter's last final is today.  Don't know when she is coming home but soon.  This might be a bad thing in a couple of weeks when she has me awake every night till 2am.  But for now it will be nice to have her home.  4)Hawaii boy came home and I'll probably see him tonight at my support group.   We have a tentative dinner date next Saturday (in response to a bet on the Flyers vs Penguins hockey game)- he's probably waiting for a better offer though, that's why its tentative - too bad, his loss.  Geez - I sound so negative. Really though - I am a lot better with all this drama then before.  "Just let it roll!"  My new motto.   So tomorrow when I crash just remind me-just let it roll.  Everyone- have a good day - Karen
