Sharing Information - Almost Guliable!!

Hello Eveyone, I wanted to share my experience today in the hopes it does not happen to anyone else.  I decided to get my vitamins, protein stuff, and other stuff from the health food store. Now on the sheet the nutritionist gave me it had the name of a store that is fairly close to me, I did not have my sheet in front of me when I was driving over to Severna Park.   I knew it was a G____ Earth Store on Benefield Road. So I found the Good Earth Store, I then got the paper out and went in the store, I told the guy what I was looking for and showed him the name and addres on the paper and he said that is us, I said great, I immediately thought it was a typo on the sheet.  I explained having the RNY on 5/23/08 and what I needed, he indicated he totally understood and proceeded to get me the items I  needed, then he acted like he was giving me a discount.  The total items came to 135.00.   I went outside and read the ingredients, now I just told him I could not have sugar in any form.  Everything he gave me had some form of sugar!!  I took the stuff back and kept out the B12, he gave me a hard time returning the stuff I should have known then!  I left,drove down the road toward Ritchie Highway and low and behold there was the Great Earth Vitamin Store (the exact name and address that was on the paper I  had).  The store was very clean and Craig who worked there was very professional, I told him what I needed and what happened at the other store, he did not try to sell me stuff I did not need and he informed me that if a customer can got get there to pickup their supplies, you can call them place an order and they will ship it to you - no shipping charge.  I also noticed the same B12 that I kept from the other store was only 9$ and I just paid $30 !!! So I left Great Earth, went back to Good Earth and returned the rest of my stuff, the store owner was persistant,  I told him the mark up was criminal!!!  He needs to go sell used cars!!!  That was my excitment for day!!  Bottom line if you live in the Anne Arundel County, Queen Anne County and you are looking for reasonably priced supplies, please go to Great Earth in Severna Park.  Thanks for listening Terri

I have heard only good things about Great Earth. There is a girl at my church that just had RNY and went there for her supplies and the guy told her that if she did not like the protein powders that she got that she could return them for some other flavor. I have not been there yet, but going to try and go over that way soon.

That is good to know about the protein powders because they only sell them in a big jug and they are about 40 dollars.  I am glad you took the time to read  my my very log blog. Have a great day Terri

Terri, Thanks for the information.  I ordered my vitamins on line, but it is good to know that there is someplace close to get good service.  I just wanted to say good luck to you on your upcoming surgery.  Dr. Averbach is also my surgeon.  He performed my Lapband procedure in early January.  I like him.  He and Cathy have been very supportive.
