Info at st.agnes...

Hi All-  going to the info session at st. agnes tomorrow to get some more info regarding getting surgery.  I am also interested in going to support groups before i get the surgery to get as much info as i can. Any groups in Baltimore? I live in the city. Thanks!!

I had my surgery with Dr. Andrew Averbach on 3/21/08 (had a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy - VSG). Had the surgery done at St. Agnes Hospital even though i live in Germantown, Maryland because he was one of the only docs who did this type of WLS.  He was also named one of the TOP 100 DOCTORS in Baltimore Magazine. He has support groups at his office and i image that ANYONE is invited/permitted to attend.  His office is in Catonsville.  Hope this helps.

HI I am glad you are going to the info session.  I went to the one with Dr. Averbach back in Feb 08 and then I started the process.  I also attended my first support group in May at St. Agnes. The next one is the 1st Wednesday of the month each and every month at 6PM at the hospital.  If you post a message that says Looking for Support Group in Baltimore, you will get a lot of posts.   The people in the Maryland room are terrific and I have only been a member since last week.  I have surgery scheduled for May 23. Dr Averbach did my surgery Aug 18, 2006 and he not only saved my life he gave me a life. My life is amazing and beyond my wildest dreams. I am nt online a lot because life is so full but I will try and check and if you ever want to talk let me know Laurie

I live 5 mins from St. Agnes. My surgeon is there now. He has a support group each month. A group of us get together once a month in Glen Burnie. I havne't made it the past couple of months, but it is a great group of people. We also try to have an outing that includes all of the Maryland forum monthly. Lots of Maryland support here for you!
