Dr. Steele is going to be my surgeon. She was hightly regarded and recommended by my PCP.  I had a wonderful experience with her during my first consultation and I would surely recommended her based on this first interaction.  I am currently going through my 6 months doctor supervised diet, but I am looking forward to have Dr. Steele as my surgeon.

Hi Kellie, I am sorry your insurance is going to change. But I wanted to comment the the other doctors you mentioned.  If you have to go with another doctor. I have only heard nothing but great things about them throughout the time I have been a member here.   I want to wish you all the best and keep us posted. Say hello to Mike from Gino & I !

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Your baby is beautiful.

I am looking at Steel or Lidor. Dr Magnuson only does open and I am trying to go laporscopic if I can.

Oh also I am very sorry that I am not going to able to be at your going away lunch/dinner. I am going to be camping. If you want we can meet before or after and get together. I would love meet that beautiful new baby of yours.

Thank you Kellie! Oh trust me I am not leaving the MD forum ever.  You are all my OH family and I can not even think of leaving you guys.  I will even make plans to come up this way when there are get togethers planned.   The baby is such a blessing she melts my heart everytime she stares at me and smiles.   I would love for you to see her before I leave to WV.   Hopefully you can make it on the 8th of June instead.  Good luck with the other two docs.  I don't blame you not wanting an open RNY.  I wouldn't want an open one either.    Talk to you soon. Hugs,

Hi Kellie- Good luck tomorrow. I know that Dr Schweitzer trained both Drs Steele and Lidor. Although I'll be having Dr Schweitzer, I met Dr Steele at the info session and was very impressed. I almost wanted to switch to her but hubby is more comfortable w/ Dr Schweitzer.  Maybe you could see if either is giving one of the sessions and meet them then, at least you wouldn't be charged a fee. But I've heard good things about both the ladies. There is also a support group on the 2nd and 3rd Th at Bayview (5pm) and some post op patients go- you could maybe ask them their opinion. Take care- Donna

Donna,

Thanks for your input. I went to a session with Dr Steele and I to was impressed with her and how she handled herself. She was very caring and never once acted like that was a dumb question.

I am thinking about either Dr Steele or Lidor not sure which is better or I want. Need to do more research now. Thought I had this all firgured out. Oh well that is the story about this journey we are on. Always having to change.

Had weigh in with Hopkins Weight Loss Managment and lost 4 pounds. I was amazed I htought for sure that I was at a plaute but I guess not. I have 2 more months to go with this diet then we will start the next step. Keep me posted on how things are going for you.

I find it really surprising that Dr. Schweitzer does not participate with BCBS.  They are a huge insurance group!  If it's true he doesn't, than I know that like another poster said, his surgeons fees will be the only thing you need to finance and they allow you to pay it off in installments.  The rest will be covered under your hospitalization benefits.  If you decide to go with the other surgeons you mentioned, I have heard glowing reports about them as well, from OH members here.  However, the different docs do not all perform the same surgery types.  Which laporoscopic surgery are you interested in?

Thanks Jennifer for dropping in. I am considering the RNY done Laporscopic.

I am not able to pay for the fee for Dr S. I am in the process of planning a wedding some day and trying to buy a house, so this does not fit into my budget at all. I have to think that there is a reason why I am not able to Dr S and I need to leave it alone and move on.

I am not even sure that this new insurance will cover the surgery. Once i get my card I will call them and see. I have had BC/BS before but not this Blue choice one so who knows about that. I have a 1200.00 decutable to meet and that is bad enough.

Thanks for stopping in I will keep everyone posted as more developes
