Stomach pain

Has anyone else experienced stomach pain after there surgery?  I am 8 months out and up until this point have felt wonderful.  It started about a month ago and not not gotten any better.  I thought it may be a women issue, but had an ultrasound last week that came back normal.  So they did an abdominal ultrasound this weekend and hopefully that will show us something.  The pain seems to be worse in the middle of my stomach right under my ribcage.  Sometimes it is so painful it wakes me up in the middle of the night.  Has anyone had this problem before, or have any idea what it could be??? I have a appointment with a Gastroenterolist (sorry about the spelling) on Friday, so hopefully they will have some idea of what it could be. Thanks for listening and my best to all of you!

Gina I am also 8 months out and the only real ABD pain I get is with BM and I am really trying to work on that.  I would call your doctor or really see gastro.  Best Wishes Hugs Kristen

Thanks you all for your insight.  Hopefully, they will be able to tell me more on Friday and I can move on from there.  I will keep you posted.  Thanks again for the info.

Hey Gina - Do you still have your gallbladder?  That's where I had my pains.  Hope they resolve things for you. Keep us posted!!! Tia

Hi Gina, We are all different, so I don't often post about my 'complication' after surgery, but I had severe pain about 5 months out and thought it was 'gas' or something I was doing wrong.   I was in pain and also throwing up more than I could keep down.   My WLS surgeon sent me for an upper GI and determined that I had an esophageal stricture and because of the stricture I had developed a small fistula and food/liquid was passing to the old pouch (that was the pain).  I had a surgical scar that had formed and become a small ulcer.   I had to be dilated 3 times (September, October, December) and it has been ok since then.   The fistula closed itself up, but might have needed to be treated surgically.   If I had continued to need dilation, my WLS surgeon would have done a revision to 'fix' the esophageal connection. I am now over 4 years out and still have a 'tight' esophagus and need to be careful that I CHEW well and there are a lot of foods that I cannot get down.   My doctor says my reactions as an RNY patient are very much like his band patients. I hope Dr Lidor is taking an active part in what is going on and ready to step in if you need treatment.    Hope you get feeling better. Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!
