Local Support Group in PG County?

I live in Beltsville and I was wondering if there were any support groups in Beltsville/Laurel/Greenbelt/College Park area?  I've been to support group meetings in Crofton and I know there are plenty in Baltimore, but with traffic, that is just too far.  Please let me know if anyone knows of any!!  Thank you so much!! -Carissa

Hi Carissa, If you find one, please let me know.  I know that there are some at Holy Cross Hosp, Georgetown Hosp and George Washington Hosp, but they are just as far from you as Baltimore.  I'm not aware of any local meetings.   There is a meetup group, DC's "A Smaller Me"  http://weightloss.meetup.com/564/, and many of the members have had WLS, but it's not a group organized through a doc, hospital or bariatric program.  Good luck!

Hello.  Don't know of any in PG County.  I was looking for some in Montgomery County (where i live) since my surgery was with Dr. Anderew Averbech in Baltimore.  I don't really want to travel from Germantown to Baltimore every other week for the group.  In my research, i found a group in Rockville.  Don't know if this is any help to you, but it may be less of a trip than to Baltimore.
