The reason I mention Orange, VA, is that they cater to beginners.  I also read a bunch of comments/feedback on a skydive site and they have great write-ups. http://www.skydiveorange.com/ I'll go where the group wants to go, though.

I haven't done a price comparison but the prices for the place in orange are here... http://www.skydiveorange.com/1stjump.htm The prices listed include classroom instructions for your first jump.  Subsequent jumps should cost much less.

Orange, VA, is 25-30 miles west of Fredericksburg.  Yeah, I know it is a bit far for you DC/Balt folks.  It's a good hike for me too.
