Another Aetna multidisciplinary diet question....
If you had to do a multi-disciplinary diet for Aetna can you tell me a bit about it?
How often did you meet with your docs? Did you have to meet with your PCP too? Did you have to work with a psychiatrist? Did you go through a program with your surgeons office or an independent nutritionist? How was it documented?
My surgeon works with a great plan but they require you meet with them once a week and they are a good hour drive each way. I can and will do it but want to see if there are other options that are feasible and that will get approval.
Doing 3 months and still getting denied scares me.
I am curious what doctor requires you to go weekly?
When I did my 3 months I saw my surgeon, nutritionist in the same office and weighed in 1 time a month. I did my exercise on my own at home and followed the diet structure the NUT gave me. Then on the 3rd month (1st month being the consult visit) then they submitted the papers and everything to the insurance and I got approved for my surgery 3 days later.
I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Of course you wuld have to change surgeons if you do the program else where is that an option you are willing to do?
wishing you all the best.

I'm another GBMC alumna, and have Aetna. I met with the nut once a month, and the doc on the 1st and 3rd month before they submitted. I had to write them a letter about my exercise, since I wasn't using a paid gym at the time. My approval took awhile (a month), but it wasn't because of anything I, or the docs office did. I'd have done once a week, if I had to, but I would have been overwhelmed by it, especially if it meant an hour of travel each way.
Hugs!
