Any Pointers-- Returning to Weight Loss

All,    I had recently had my second bandiversary on March 2nd and after a lengthy battle with a herniated disc I gained 63 of the 80 pounds that I lost with the surgery over the past 7 months. Any pointers on how to get back on the wagon? I feel like I don't know where to begin.

Hi - I'm going to send you a private message tomorrow, unfortunately, it's late and my thoughts aren't all that coherent!!  But I didn't want you to see that a bunch of people had read your post but not bothered to respond. Hang in there!!  Help is on the way! Tia

Hey there! I am so sorry to hear that you had a back problem that helped with some weight gain.  What I would suggest is getting back to basics. Pull out all of your food guides and nutritionst's information from when you had surgery and make sure you are following the eating rules.  As far as activity goes, be sure that you don't re-injure your back, but add as much in as you can! Talk to you doctor about this!  It won't help if you injure your back more, but your doc should be able to give you ideas of what exercises you can do. Some folks are all or nothing - follow all of the rules 100% all of the time, others ween back in, baby steps, one step at a time. That depends on your style. But for today, if nothing else, concentrate on just one thing, like not drinking 1/2 hour before and 1 hour after eating (if that is one of the areas where you have not been following).  And keep coming back here.... Best wishes! Caryn
