Fill update and my personal trainer...
We had our first session with our personal trainer last night. We did a body comp to find out how much lean mass we had and I’m impressed. Mine is still about the same as 10 years ago. Back then lean mass (muscle, bone, organs) was 160 pounds and I was working out 3-4 days a week then. Now it is 156 pounds of lean mass. So considering I haven’t been working out I still have a huge amount of lean mass. Needless to say I’ll never weigh 140 pounds. My body fat should be around 27% (middle of the road for my age for the normal weight range – normal runs 21-33%) The lower in the normal range the better. So (156 x 27% = 42 pounds of fat plus 156 pounds) that would mean at 198 pounds I’d be at middle of the road normal weight! Even if I shoot for the lowest end of 21% that is only an added 33 pounds of fat and that would put me at 189 pounds- I’m SOLID! Hehehe I was aiming for 180, but that might be too small! Anyway, the workout was really good and went by quickly. We sweated, we panted, and we tired out by the end, but felt great! Today I’m not sore, but the back of my thighs feel like wet noodles; plain weak. Also, went for a fill this morning. The scale is still stuck, but that is okay b/c I only had 5cc in my VG band which is what I had 10 weeks after my surgery! I asked Pat (NP) if she wanted to give me the 2cc that we held off on last time and she said no and gave me 1cc. Just didn’t want to take a chance of me being too tight and not being able to see her tomorrow. I can always go back for more later. Feeling good, sipping on some soup. Hopefully the scale will start to move again with a little restriction and if not I'll go back for a little more fill in a few weeks!
Hi Teri! Well, I'm a little tiny bit sore, but still it's the back of my thighs. The rest of my body feels great. I'm really not completely out of shape. Like I described, I'm pretty solid (always been athletic and competitive) so that might count for something. We'll be seeing the trainer 3 times a week and I plan on taking a group class or two (aqua fitness and Kwando strike) when I can fit it in. See ya Saturday!!!
Eric, it's a device you hold in both hands in front of you and a current runs through your body and gives feedback to the device. It breaks down lean mass and BMI. There are scales you can buy that do the same. Unfortunately your excess skin IS lean mass. Lean mass = muscle, bones, tissue (organs and skin). And honestly excess skin doesn't weigh as much as we'd like to believe. Check out the scales in Target. I think they carry one that does the same thing.
btw, had turkey chili for lunch and 1 cup filled me up
