I was banded  August 2006 and have only lost 38.5 pounds.  Was down 45 lbs. until Christmas.  I can't seem to get back on track, I am drowning in depression and can't seem to shake it.   HELP

I do not have the band but i understand depression and being off track. have you talked to anyone at the hospital you got your surgery at? maybe you need to get a fill again? Also, you might want to see a psychiatrist or therapist regarding your depression. It won't get better until you do something about it. try to focus less on your weight and more on your eating and lifestyle habits. the weight will come off naturally if you do that. good luck and if you need more help, let me know.

Ther are so many posts like this being posted on lap band board. There are so many people who have had from needing a new filll to increasing their water and protein intake that have changed the slow weight loss. If you post this on that board you will immidiately hear many great feedbacks. Also, I have seen quite a number of people myself whom had complications (such as port dislocation, leak, or even slip) with their bands without noticing it themselves and after an exam they come back and say now I know it wasn't my fault all along. , I just want to let you know that you sohuldn't be hard on yourself, if you still have access to your surgeon, make an appointment with either him/her or with your nutritionist. Meanwhile, I notice so mayn mention going back to basics has helped  them tremendously.  I really feel for you and understand you since i am a new bandster myself and am wondering constantly with weight loss rate. Hope that Helps. Ellie

I'm so sorry you're going through this; although I have rny, I can so relate.  It can be heart-wrenching, I know, but fortunately, I have an amazing therapist and this board to help me.  If you don't have a therapist, that might be a great starting point, as is making an appointment to see your surgeon.  Remember, the surgery is simply a tool, not a quick fix, unfortunately, they didn't operate on our heads!! Please feel free to join us here, we can at least lend you emotional support for your journey. Take care, Tia

Well let's see, like I said I was banded in August of 2006, I am now at 199.5.  I have a great support system in my husband and my mother, they really want the best for me.  I am 48 years old, I have 1 son, 1 grandson and 2 step sons.
