All you have to do is ask Rose at DVR's office She will know for sure since she is the insurance specialist there.  I sent you a pm go check it. hugs

Good Morning to you I am sorry your visit did not go as you expected ;  to be honest I think Dr. Mo is really overwhelmed and stretched too thin at this point.  His whole office is new other then Barbie ( who I love by  the way) and they are all going thru adjustments and growing pains. My own dealings with Dr Mo are a bit minimal; but from what you said about the time spent its the same I had with Dr VonRueden.  I saw him on my first of six monthly visits and the last one .  I also saw him for about two minutes on my third or fourth visit but that only because I insisted.  I was not happy with having to wait so long and wanted  to talk to him about going self pay.  He convinced me to wait and I am glad I did. As far as the type of surgury:  that is something only you and Dr Mo can decide.  I would suggest researching both as I am sure you already have. Now have you thought of going to any other surgeons?  I know i know you waited so long to get into see Dr Mo but   there are other options.  I have heard that Dr Singh is great:  He takes the time to talk to you is what I hear from other patients. I know the whole process is stressful;  keep your head up and keep plowing thru. Its worth every bit of the stress trust me.  Darla

Thanks Darla for responding!  He did seem very tired and not talkative, which to me was odd.  His staff is definitely needing some work...lol As for other surgeons, I really didn't look into others because 1) there was only 3 to choose from and 2) now that its over, I don't know if my insurance will pay for another consultation.  Either way, right now I think I'm going to just get my tests down (Psych Eval and Upper GI Series tomorrow & Blood Work on Saturday) and just think on it!!  Thanks again for responding. Dr. Singh is my surgeon.  He is my second doctor (the first one moved on me!) I would recommend that you go to one of his seminars.  The seminars are free and you can get a feel for the kind of person Dr. Singh is.  Know that there are options available...don't feel like you have to stick with the first choice.  Best of luck. Deb

Thanks Deb!  You know, I went to Dr. Moein's informational session, and he seemed good, very informative, made eye contact, etc..  I got a good vibe from him.  I just don't know what happened.  But I'm just proceed forward, do my tests, and think about everything for right now.  I don't just want to make a change and then regret that change too.  Thanks for responding! Hey there!  Sounds like you had a long and overwhleming day at GBMC.  I agree with most of what's already been said, but I wanted to add just a few small points.  I saw Dr. Moein during my 1st visit, 3rd visit and 5th visit.  The 1st and last are standard, the 3rd was because I demanded it.  If you would like to see him or ask more questions, then do it.  Please don't think I'm beating you up or saying that you did anything wrong, I'm simply saying, don't let yourself be silenced.  If you weren't done with him or ready to talk to the nutrionist, say it.  He is NOT a very talkative person (but over time I think the relationship warms and he relaxs more with patients), but he is knowledgable, understanding and caring. And yes, with DVR and most of the team leaving, Dr. Moein is overwhlemed as well.  Shoot, on a good day before DVR and the team left, the office was hopelessly chaotic anyway.    Personally, I hated the office staff there, but because I did trust Dr. Moein, I stayed with the program.   I think that researching the LapBand (based on your height and weight) is an excellent idea.  Ultimately, it'll be your decision to make, but take heed to his suggestion as material to make your decision stronger.  Same thing can be said about visiting with Drs. DVR and Gandas.  Try them all and see where you feel the most comfortable.  Best of luck to you!!

Thanks so much responding!  I have read yours along with all the other post and appreciate all of the responses I have received.  I'm definitely going to look into the Lap Band and also visit the other Surgeons office and then make my choice.  I guess if I would have did more research in the beginning, I probably wouldn't be going through all this right now.  Again, thanks for responding.
