Looking for a local support group!!

Hi, Susan.  Great to meet you!  I had my surgery in Dec of 2003, so I'm hardly a newbie.  I want to get back on track and feel meeting with some other people who have had WLS would help.  My surgery was in Fairfax, VA.  That's a ways!  Smile. I'm going to check into Dr. Greene's group.  I'll let you know how that goes. Sharone

For all who mentioned Dr. Barry Greene, thank you.  I, too, will look him up and find out about his support groups at Shady Grove Hospital which is not far from where i live. I am 5 weeks out from a vertical sleeve gastrectomy (VSG) and not many surgeons do that operation.  However, i think most of us, no matter what type of WLS we had, go through many of the same phases, feelings, emotions, questions, etc.  It will be wonderful to talk face to face with others.  Again, thank you.

Don't give up hope!! I AM HERE!!! I have never visited the Maryland message board, and today I stumbled upon it and found YOU!! I work in Rockville, live in Clarksburg and I am always in Gaithersburg and Germantown. My surgeon was Dr. Barry Greene and if you would like to come with me, I will be going to the post-op support group on May 1st. Did you have the band? If not, they do have a bypass meeting too but I don't know when. They are GREAT people! I would love to have a weight loss buddy. Sometimes I feel a little alone too. The support groups are spread out one month apart from another and I think people need support getting through that month. Also, I will be going to the Ashburn conference on May 3rd. My best friend and I are going down Friday night and taking advantage of the discounted hotel rate the conference had to offer. Would you like to join me at the conference?? Hit me up...
