gastric bypass on 60 minutes last night

THANK YOU 60 MINUTES FOR THE GREAT STORY ON GASTRIC BYPASS .... DID ANYONE ELSE SEE IT?  IT WAS SO NICE TO SEE A POSITIVE NEWS STORY ON THE SUBJECT.  

I forgot to TIVO it darn it!  I am glad it was positive!

I saw it! It was so positive that my husband, who also has a BMI over 40, for the first time voiced the interest in also getting a Gastric Bypass. He has always been supportive of my decision, but never comment on considering it for himself. Wonderful! Hopefully more positive media will come and we'll have less "explaining" to do.

I had a few people call me and tell me to watch, and I figured it was just going to be another doomsday report.  I was definitely happy to see that I was wrong! I was pretty excited watching it, because like those people, I am not diabetic anymore.  I haven't had any insulin since I came home from the hospital and my blood sugar has been perfect!  I wish I could send a tape of that to my former PCP who told me I was nuts to think that this surgery would help or cure my diabetes.

I'm with you sweetbea - I just talked to my PCP on Monday and she told me I would NEVER come off all my diabetes meds..   I was thrilled with the 60 minutes segment!!
