What 2 Expect at Psych Eval
Hi T,
I didn't have my psych eval. with your particular provider, but I'm sure they are all very similiar. Mine was basically a little interview for my provider to get to know me and my history - health history, family history, relationships, relationship with food, etc. My provider wanted to make sure I was well-informed about the surgery I was choosing and how it would impact my life - both in day-to-day activities as well as long-term. She just wanted to make sure I wasn't jumping into this willy nilly and not really preparing myself for the major lifestyle change.
I'm sure you'll be fine - just be honest and confident

T,
My surgery went well and everything else has been fine. Just finding as days pass which foods do/don't agree with me. Eating some turkey chili for lunch now and all seems to be fine.
I just wish chicken didn't give me so much of a fit!
Dr. Moein is a great surgeon and I'm sure you will have a great experience as well

HIJACK!!!!
Saw the mention of chicken giving you a fit. Well, it did me, too, and unfortunately, almost 3 years post-op, still does.
Let me give you some tips, though. They say gravies and sauces help - they didn't help me. But salsa helps, as does salad dressing. So once you're cleared to eat salad, try putting chicken in there. Maybe it's the oil in the salad dressing, I don't know. I do still say that salsa is my favorite lube. It's weird - I can eat chicken cut up in a salad, but put a grilled chicken breast in front of me and
!!
Hang in there, things will get better!

T:
I didn't have mine with your provider either, but I found it a very relaxing atmosphere and just general questions about your health and why you want to have surgery, your expectations and understanding of the surgery and things that you have to do after the surgery. In general I think they want to make sure you don't have any unrealistic dreams of becoming a supermodel ~ not that you couldn't.
Hope all goes well.
