Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers during my surgery.  Everyting went great last Tuesday and I returned home Wednesday by luch time.   I am having problems getting in all my liquids, wow who would have thought  8ozs would  take so long to drink.     Does anyone have advise on protein drinks?   Thanks again.

The only protein drink I could stomach was the nu whey protein bullets: Thats what got me over the required # grams protein each day I never did like the consistency of milkshakes ( even pre op) so the little 3 ounce bullets mised with 3 ounces of water that gave me 42 grams of protein were an absolute God send.  I still have a stash in the pantry for the days I lack in protein. Glad everything went well for you and welcome to " the other side" Sip Sip Sip and walk walk walk.. Take care Darla

Hi, Welcome back. I am glad everything went fine. I too had issue with taking with liquids until Saturday, I am getting better now, I had a dizzy spell, chills and sweat second night, so the nurse told me that is one reason with dehydration and I am trying my hardest to take everything in. I try everything. I only cna stomach choclate Atkins or mix of vanilla EAS, two scoop of starwberry or choclate unjury powder and ice together and have it as smoothie. That gives me more than I can need for protein. it takes a bit longer to drink it because it is smoothie. Also I hae stacked up on Crystal light and FUZE drink, I like the diet ones, it has a number of variety. You can also try Ocean Spray Cranberry juice (diet of course) good luck and hope all goes well for you. Ellie

I didn't like any protein shakes at all!  It was a real struggle for me to get in enough protein.  I found some really good hot chocolate from www.MyDietShopz.com located in Woodbridge, VA.  They have lots of high protein drink mixes and foods.  I like many of their protein bars too.  Also, Susan Marie Leach's book Before & After has great recipes for protein shakes.  You can half the recipes for now until you are able to consum the full amount.  Each one makes an 8oz serving but for the protein in it you shouldn't let it sit for extended periods of time.  Personally I think they just get yucky after awhile anyway.   I wish you all the best!  Congrats on your surgery.  Hugs, Robin

Best wishes for a speedy recovery and congrats on becoming a loser. Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

Glad you are doing well. I finally found a protein drink that is very light tasting, no smell and not too sweet. It is RTD creamy drinks from Bariatric Advantage. Low in fat, 35 grams of protein and only 5 grams of carbs. They are very good. The other one I like, if you like coffee is Achieve- they come in hazelnut and other flavors. This gives you 20 grams or so of protein.
