Lidor or Steele for follow up??

Hi There!! Long, long, long time since I've been on the Md board - just crazy busy!!  Kinda let myself get pushed to the bottom of the priority list. Doing ok with my new lifestyle but there is room, ok a lot of room for improvement!!! I was hoping you could help me get started... I do have a question for you John Hopkins Bayview patients... I changed insurance companies and the new one, Carefirst BC BS Md Point of Service, isn't accepted by Dr Schweitzer, the surgeon who did my RNY. So I have to pick a new surgeon to do my follow ups. I'm a little over 1.5 yrs now. Both Lidor and Steele accept my insurance. Do you have any info on the type of surgeons they are? How is there "bedside demeanor" so to speak? Who is more thorough and approachable? That kind of stuff. Thanks for any input. Take care, 

I have dr. steele and i love her. she really cares about her patients and helps them get on track if they are off. i would definitely try her. i only have heard that lidor is a bit more reserved but someone who has her would be a better judge.

Thanks a lot Nicole! It's nice to find a doctor, especially a surgeon!! (because they seem to be a little tempermental sometimes!) that you're comfortable seeing. Maybe I'll give her a try. Thanks again,

Yes I would agree with Nicole.  I've only had my consultation but Dr. Steele was very pleasant and she made me feel really comfortable.

I prefer Dr. Magnuson. My interactions with Dr. Steele were a bit "stressed" to say the least.  I feel she wasn't really listening to me at all. I became pretty impatient with her. Dr. M is my surgeon. Dr. S did my endoscopy. d

Hi Diane, Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately Dr M doesn't take my insurance. I'm glad you found a surgeon you're comfortable with and like! I see from your profile that you might be looking into having a revision? Good luck with that and good job getting it checked out! Take care,
