Wish me luck, everyone.
By the way, my Nut consult was yesterdat at JHBayview with Margaret....truly a wonderful person. VERY knowledgeable and EXTREMELY personable, and TOTALLY professional. I am so happy to have been scheduled with her.
Here's hoping for a speedy and positve reply! Best wishes as your WLS journey continues! Hugs, Mo
Comparison is the thief of joy!
If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished. Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago. I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits! Wherever you are in your journey ... It's ALL good!!!
I am so excited to hear of your smooth BC/BS Federal process. I can only hope that mine also goes as painlessly.
All of my paperwork was supposed to be sent from my surgeon's office to the insurance company yesterday. I will call tomorrow to see if it was sent, and then call BC/BS tFederal o see if it was received next week sometime.
If you don't mind sharing, how long did it take BC/BS Federal to approve you? I know that my surgeon's schedule is currently booked up until mid-June sometime. I am just so anxious to get my RNY over and done with.
I don't mind sharing at all.
I actually changed my insurance with the January open enrollment to a plan that covered WLS with a BMI over 40 only. (To BC BS Federal). And my surgery was March 6th. So in 3 months,I started a new insurance plan, went to pre-op seminars, met the nutritionist, had all of the pre-op tests, got it approved, and had surgery.
My group (Sinai) has also said at their pre-op seminars that Federal BC BS is a pretty easy one to work with for this!

I, too, just switched over to BC/BS Federal in January when I got married. Obviously, I've not been with them for very long. Seeing your like cir****tances encourages me very much. Kowing that you got approved in such short order hopefully means that I'll get approved quickly, too.
I was thinking that if I had a snag with BC/S Federal would be because I am such a new patient to them.
