VSG w/ Dr Schweitzer Please give feedback
Hi,
Ok... Again I had the DS and this is just my experience. There is a DS board and I think there is a VSG board you could post to as well to get more info. I am a middle school teacher so I have to be on my feet all day. I took off two weeks and realized I could not handle it. I actually needed a month to really feel up to being at work. Luckily, we had winter break right after my surgery. I tired easily at first, but now I am in my fourth month and I am feeling really good. As far as pain, I really do not remember much of it. I know I had pain right after, but you get meds and that really helped. When I came home after three days I stopped taking my pain meds. The biggest issue for me was the stupid drains. I could not move without them bothering me. Once the drains were out I felt a hundred times better. The diet is frustrating at first because nothing tasted good to me. I ate soups, protein drinks, eggs, really soft stuff. By month two I was eating so much better. I think my taste buds came back. (Hehe) I could eat meats, cottage cheese, regular cheese, yogurt. Now I eat anything I want, just try to stay away from too many carbs and sugar. Let me know if you have any more questions and check out the other boards as well. There are people who are farther out than me and could offer up more advice. Good luck to you!

Just thought I'd give you a heads up that there is indeed a VSG board, and they're more than helpful over there with what to expect and things like that. If you have questions, I'd suggest asking them there. :)
