Hi Karen!  Let me just tell that the scar gets better.  I just went down that road last year.  I had skin cancer (basal) on my face too (below left eye on the cheek bone).  I too saw the Mohs surgeon and he also did 2 revisions.  I also had some removed from my right upper they, and some on my back right shoulder.  Now I have to be checked every 6 months.   Hang in there!

Thanks.  They say it will take 3 months to heal because of where it is.  I guess because you move your lip so much.  It just seems like it will be sooo long.  On the positive side, maybe I'll have all of my weight off and a healed scar at the same time.

Yeah, just give it time.  They told me just to keep vaseline on it.  For some reason, they said moist insions heal better---go figure...lol

Hey Tia!  Happy Tuesday too u 2!  This week has been hard for me.  Not sleeping at all!  I think I have gotten 6 hours of sleep since Sunday. I did my sleep study back in March, resulting in only Mild Sleep Apnea, but I'm so tired through out the day and I have no energy.    I'm feeling overwhelmed with waiting for my 1st Dr's Appt on the 21st.  Its taking forever.  I called today to see if they had any cancellations, but they only do new patients on Mondays...ok,ok,ok, enough about me, let switch to you... ok, so if you don't mind me asking, what is Ablation, the procedure your having on the 30th?  As for the root canal, I hear ya..I can definitely relate with the wallet pain.  My root canal cost my $700, and that was my copay.  I was so sick to my stomach.  Needless to say, during open season, I picked up extra dental insurance through the government.  Now if I have to have a root canal it will only cost me $348. Well I have to run my kids to Chuckie Cheese's.  My youngest daughter is turning 5 and that is where she wants to go.  I will check in later.

Hey Terri - You mean the sleepLESS study!!!  I had two, God, if I ever had to have one again, I'd cry!!  It was awful, but obviously only because I didn't sleep!!  It was a necessary evil, though and the staff was great.  I had sleep apnea, too - OMG! I could fall asleep anywhere, any time and did.  Thank goodness after wls, it finally went away.   The uterine ablation - just a fancy way of saying they're going to cauterize (burn) the lining of my uterus to hopefully stop the insanely heavy periods I've been having.  It's an outpatient procedure, done under a light sedation.  Good thing, too, because after last week, the only way he's getting near me again is if I'm asleep or dead!!!  It's not 100% guaranteed, so we'll have to wait and see what happens.  And it's not for people who may want to get pregnant, as doing so can be deadly to mother and baby.  So, I've made my decision, I'm happy with it and I say - bring it on!!

Yeah, my root canal will run about $400 (my co-pay), and then the crown prep/crown will be another $200-300.  I just hate it!!!

Hope your daughter had fun at Chuck E. Cheese's - happy bday to her!!

Tia

Yeah Tia, I can also fall asleep any where.  I wish I could go to sleep now...lol  As for the uterine ablation, wow, good luck with that!  Hope it helps you out in the long run.  As for the root canal/crown, yeah it costs alot of $$$.    I also had cracked one my teeth up front so the only resort was to pull the tooth and get a 3-Bridge Crown...that thing cost me soooooooooooooooo much and I cried for days because of how much I had to pay...lol  And to top everything, I was to get my tooth pulled so I paid $150 extra to be knocked out...lol  Ok, ok, I'm going to stop now, cuz I could on and on...lol  Hope everything works out for you...Oh and yes, she had a great time at Chuck E. Cheese's and thanks for the birthday wishes for her. T
