calling Dr. Michael Schweitzer's patients

In my opinion he is one of the best in the field. He is extremely skilled in all aspects of lap surgery. He did a terrific job with my surgery at 367 pounds. No complications with surgery and none in the recovery phase or after. I have been very blessed with my journey and a lot of the credit goes to Dr. S.

What a glowing recommendation!  And thanks for posting you list of DS questions to ask the surgeon, a while back.  I saved it, added a few of my own questions and have it all printed out and ready for my consult!

I did not have DS with Dr. Schweitzer but RNY.  All I can say is that my experiences have been nothing but positive.

Hey Jennifer, I answered this question on the DS board, but it is fun to see you here.  I'm sure that you know that I don't come to this board very often.  It's is really great to see so many Schweitzer patients here. I'll have to stop in more frequently!  Why don't we all get together on the 19th, eh?!!

Hi LizJo, yes I saw your post in the other thread and thanks for everyone's responses.  As for the 19th, I am there as long as somebody tells me where to meet up.  Has it been decided upon?  Last I checked it was not.

Hey Jenn, Did you see my post about the details of April 19th? I need to make reservations, so I'll need a pretty good head count.   Sure hope that you join us.

I'm currently in the process of scheduling my consultation with Dr. S. He was recommended to me personally by my PCP. I was told I'd get a call by his office after e-mailing him.. I hope they call! All of my attempts to call directly and schedule were not successful >.<;;  I'm still somewhat undecided on which procedure I want (between DS and RNY) so I am hoping Dr. S will give me some insight!

I am sorry you have had trouble reaching them.  try the email of the nurse who does scheduling.  [email protected]  Christine Walsh.  She responds quickly and usually by the next business day.  Also, when you call the office, one of the choices on the phone tree is "if you are a new pt waiting to schedule a consult and it has been more than 10 days since you emailed the office, press here".  that gets you right to a real person.

I think that if you want to have DS, you will need to be definitive about it.  Otherwise, he will probably stear you toward the RNY.
