calling Dr. Michael Schweitzer's patients

(cross post, also posted on DS forum) Would you all please post your comments here about your experience with having the DS done by Dr. Schweitzer?  I am going to see him soon and am wondering what you all have to say about him.

He is awesome! I had the DS with him in December and he really knows his stuff. Make sure when you go in for your appointment you have done some research on which surgery you want. He will answer any questions you have but does expect that you have done your research. The team at Bayview really made my experience comfortable. Let me know if you have any other questions. I am ready to show my DS knowledge.  I even printed out a list of questins to ask him, some from Joteddie's list she posted.  How much weight have you lost since your surgery in december? 

I am down 45 pounds since December 4th. Two weeks ago, I visited with Pat for my three month check up and she said to expect 35 more by my 6th month check up. I am very happy with my progress. I wish you all the best. Keep us updated on how things go! Amy

He'll be my surgeon once I get approved. My friend had the DS done by him and is doing great. She said she really hasn't seen him since she was discharged from the hospital. But she loves him. HTH_ Donna

You and I will be getting approved close together it seems.  I am OK with not seeing him after he performs the surgery, as long as there is someone to see me for aftercare and he is available to see me if I need surgery again. 

I'll be having my DS soon...  At my consult, Dr. S was extremely nice and I could tell that he is very intelligent.  I could have gone to a doctor that is closer and more convenient, but I chose Dr. S. because of his skill.  He is one of the best.  Good luck!

It sounds like we will be going through this together, Tiffany.  I rescheduled my consult for the 28th and have all my paperwork ready to submit to insurance since I'm transferring from gbmc, so I hope to get a surgery date in May or June.
