My name is Christine and I am new to the boards. I was encouraged to sign up from a friend and I am so glad I did. Reading the stories and seeing the pictures (before and after) have been amazing.
I learned from my friend that my insurance covers the procedure that I would like to have. 
So I wil be signing up for some seminars and hopefully will have news to share in the coming weeks. In the meantime, I will keep reading.
There is so much support and love here. I am so encouraged by that! All of you seem to be amazing people and I look for ward to the connection.

Welcome Christine and best of luck on your journey!! There is alot of good information on these boards and alot of good people willing to help in any way that they can. It's an exciting journey, not easy by any means but well worth the payoff. My advice is make yourself an expert on the subject of the surgery that you choose it will make the process easier. Again welcome and if I can answer anything please feel free to contact me.

thanks steph!! ive been up late reading on the surgery and the process before and after. i had a conversation with my husband and he is supporting me in this 
. i had been contemplating this for a while and went so far as to get some doctors names from my PCP. all but one are in my network. what is very surprising is that when i contacted my insurance company they said they only covered the gastric bypass. so when my friend said that she just had the lapband i was very shocked and surprised at the same time.
anyhoo, i will be signing up for what ever seminars in my area and take it from there.

Hey there neighbor!!!
Right now, Ihave signed up for information sessions at Holy Cross and GBMC. I am going to do the same for St. Agnes. Drs Singh, Von Roeden, Green and Liao are all in my network. Based upon the feedback by folks here, I am leaning toward Dr. Singh. But I want to be as informed as I can. I took a look at a video of the surgery (1/2 of it) So far I am comfortable with what I am seeing.

That's wonderful!!! I had Von Reuden at GBMC but he is now at St Agnes. He is an awesome doctor too. I would definitely recommend him!!
I have heard wonderul things about Dr. Singh too so either way you will be in great hands.
I can't wait to get to know you better and hear about your journey.
