3 month update!

Hi everyone! It's been forever since I posted. Thought I'd give you a quick update. I am doing great! I've lost 30 pounds and just hit the 200lb mark last Sunday. I was so excited to see that on the scale. Now if I can just lose another half-pound even this week, I'll be out of the 200's for the first time in over 17 years! Whoo Hoo! I've had two fills. The first was about 6 weeks after surgery and was 2cc. I just had my second fill two weeks ago. That was just a half cc. I am able to eat just about anything without a problem. I stick to the rules most of the time. :) I just know when I am needing a fill because I am able to eat more volume.  I have lost over 10 inches from various body parts and just had to go out and buy new underwear! I'm giving away clothes left and right that no longer fit. It feels wonderful to load up a box and take it to the thrift store knowing I'll never see that size again. I'm trying to avoid buying new clothes as long as possible, but pretty soon, I'll need to get some. I'll probably hit the same thrift stores I bring my stuff to, since I won't be in those very much longer either!

I am training for the Irongirl Triathlon in Columbia in late August. When I went to the pool yesterday to do my swim workout, I decided to see just how far I could go before I had to quit. I was able to do 16 laps (back and forth=one lap) in the 25 yard pool! I stopped and rested for a few seconds after each lap, and switched strokes frequently, but I really surprised myself! Having the band was one of the best decisions I've ever made, and so far, I am thrilled with it. It helps me so much with making healthy food choices. When I know I can only eat a small amount, it really makes me think about what I want to be putting in my body. Sometimes I still choose cookies or cake or chocolate, but much less frequently than before the surgery. And now, it's one bite, or two kisses rather than the whole bag! Thanks for listening, and I'll post again soon. (I'll try to include a new pic next time.)

Congratulations Michelle! You are doing excellent. Doen't it feel awesome to get rid of the bigger clothes. I was so ready o give them up and now I look forward to buying new clothes.  I hated to shop before and now I love it! Wishing you all the best in your journey congrats on the 30 pounds I can't wait to see a pic!

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Congrats Michelle!   I know what you mean about the clothes.  I finally broke down and bought 2 new bras and some panties.  Those are necessities.  This morning I put on a top that I had bought last spring....it's amazingly HUGE on me today!  But, I, too am trying not to buy many new clothes since I will be having the sleeve in May and I KNOW that I will need to replace clothes more frequently then.  Guess it's back to just a having a couple pairs of slacks that fit (for a while at least!) Keep up the great work!!!!  Looking forward to seeing you new pictures. Deb
