I've been on chewable vitamins since I was one month out.  They really don't sit well with me at all...make me bloated for some reason which of course makes me not want to take them although I force myself everyday.  Anyway, everything I got in my pre-op binder says pills can be started at two months but if large may need to be cut.  I was just wondering when everyone switched to pills and what their experince with them was.

Hi! One of my friends is a pharmacist and found a vitamin that is the size of an ibuprophen tablet.  They do not have the minerals in them, but all of the vitamins.  I could not take the chewables either and these were a Godsend! They are not a prescription, but you generally you have to ask the pharmacist to get them. Goldline Brand - called One-Tablet-Daily.  The UPC number is:  0182-4428-01.  They are similar to the One A Day ESSENTIAL vitamin - but those are VERY hard to find! Enthusiastically focusing on the positive,  Tracey

Hi Sandi, If I remember correctly when I started taking pills I was almost 4 months post op.  I was really afraid of getting a pill stuck so I waited for a while. Dr von Reuden told me he wanted me to wait 3 months before trying. It was fine when I did take that first pill. But one thing I did notice I could not rush myself to take them. One time I rushed it and it really hurt me for a while. Good luck!

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
