Carnie Wilson on GMA today
Hey Gang, Anyone watch GMA this a.m.? They had Carnie Wilson of Wilson & Philips on t.v.! She has gained back 57 lbs. from her gastric bypass. I feel very sorry for her. I think she can feel like we all do! That anyone who knows you have had GBS, thinks it is the easy way out; and makes its seem like you're under a microscope! Every one watches what you eat, if you exercise, all your life seems open to other prying eyes! Can't people mind their own bussiness? When people see I have lost a lot of weight they say with an arrogant tone; SO HOW DID YOU DO IT SURGERY? I think it is none of their bussiness and I reply: THE HARD WAY! And then leave it at that. We do it the hard way; and there is nothing more tramatic than to go through surgery, change your whole life; and if you have any complications that adds to it as well! I am always feeling failure is lurking around that corner; that everyone is in wait and watch of that as well! I am just a little over one year out; I know this will be a life long battle! It is no magic wand or pill; it is committment, determination, and a gift we give ourselves to a healthier life! Carnie is still standing tall; God Bless her.. Society and humanity in general need to learn to not put people into a box of condemanation! WLS is a blessing for those of us that have choosen to be BRAVE enough to do this! All of us need to find their own path! People who are non supportive, or judgemental need to butt out! The WLS is under a cloud to those who don't understand; even my family DR is ignorant to a lot of it! But look at the facts, there is an explosion of epic propoortion going on. There are servral thousand a year getting this done; there are more surgeons getting into this field of expertise everyday! So we can say don't judge us because you have no idea; never say never you may be next when confronted with a serious health crisis! Stop this gossip, and putting others down! Anyone who has walked this road knows it takes TRUE GRIT! It is for these very reasons we are in great fear of failure! Now I will get off my soapbox. Best wishes to all who have had the courage to do something for yourselves!!! Good Luck to Carnie Wilson in her continuing struggle! Judy R
I think that alot of people enjoy seeing her fail and that is why she is getting so much attention. I don't know why our society is like that. I am very sad that she is struggling. but ultimately, she is facing it and not backing down or giving up. That is the lesson to be learned. If she can do it with all the glare of hollywood on her, we can do it.
Hey Nicole, I totally agree with you on that note! I have been struggling to get back on track for quite some time; but feel I am getting there! I am the ant and my weight has always been the rubber tree plant! LOL.. Remember that childrens song? Who said an ant can't move a rubber tree plant?! Not backing down either.. I am so happy with all my friends from OH; we all keep one another on track and positive! I had to learn my own lesson too; and thank God it was before it was at the point where I was gainning. Hugs, Judy R
It must be so hard to be a celebrity on top of being a WLS patient. I will say that I honestly don't put much faith into her story because she is a celebrity and who knows what she really does or does not do to maintain a healthy lifestyle. All I know about her is that she received the surgery and 1 revision, she's been lazy in maintaining her weight (thats according to her), and she even went on celebrity fit club. I don't think she's a millionaire but she has access to a gym just like we do, and she has admitted that it's a struggle, but also that she should have done better all these years. Makes me wonder if she saw surgery as a 'easy way out' herself.
