plastic surgery

I drift in and off these message boards, but I don't recall anyone mentioning plastic surgery for awhile.   I remember Terri M having a lower body lift, and that was awesome.  I don't need that, but I  want a neck and face lift.  I have an appointment with Dr Grace next week.  I had my RNY surgery 16 months ago and I'm below my goal weight!!  I'm so happy about losing my weight I smile everyday.  The only downside of losing  weight is the sagging skin.  I thought it wouldn't matter, but I don't like the way my neck and face look at all.  Has anyone had or is thinking about having plastic surgery? Hope everyone is well!  Thanks, Linda

Hi Linda - Yes, indeed, Terry M. had a lower and then an upper bl, and she looks absolutely amazing.  She's still healing, of course, but I know she'd tell you it was so worth it.  As we speak, she's in Las Vegas with her fiancee.   I hadn't thought about anything other than an lbl at this time, but there is a plastic surgery forum that might give you some more insight. Take care and come back often! Tia

Hi Tia - you look great, how's it going for you?  Geez, I was thinking about Terri and her boyfriend not long ago.  Are you sure they aren't in Vegas getting married?  I remember when she first met him.  Time flies doesn't it?  I didn't know she had the upper body lift, but she told me the LBF was tough.  I'll bet she really looks good.   Tell her hi for me.  Meanwhile, I'll keep everyone posted on my PS adventure!  Take care, linda

Hi Linda - Thanks!  Other than some persistent gyn issues that are being addressed, things are going well.  Yep, Terri and Mark have been together about 14 months and are planning a Halloween wedding.  I'll choke her if she gets married while she's in Vegas!!  LOL!!!  I think the UBL was easier than the LBL, although when you're swollen and sore, who can tell?  Yes, by all means, keep posting on here and definitely keep me updated on your PS!! Just wanted to say hello to everyone, I am having my second plastics consult next week for a LBL and after that I will have the upper done.  If all goes well I am hoping for surgery sometime in may, I don't think I will ever be able to not feel fat until this skin is gone so I am excited about it.  I am a self pay so I am not excited about the cost but I keep telling myself that I am worth it.  Good luck on your journey keep us posted and I will be sure to do the same.  For some reason I am more scared about this than I was the RNY. Hey Steph - I'll be anxiously awaiting your plastics updates!!  Like you, I don't think any weight loss I've experienced will really sink in until I've done something about the saggies!!  Terry said that the plastics WERE much more uncomfortable than wls surgery, but again, it's all a means to an end, and she felt it was worth it.  I do, too.  For me, it almost seems pointless to have had wls and NOT have plastics eventually, although I'm sure that sounds a little twisted!!! I know you're scared, but you have all of us (and God) in your corner!! Take care, Tia

Thanks for the info - you have done great!!!   I will probably fall off the chair when I hear the price tag for my procedures, but I know I'll fell better after I fix my problems.   Please let us know how you're doing!  Linda
